A popular feature from the old website, Member Spotlight, is back! Each month we will take some time to learn a bit more about one of our members. This month it's @Kraknar. Q1. Can you share a real life picture? A. I hate pictures and all that crap, THEY STEAL YOUR SOUL! Q2. Where are you from? A. Issaquah, Washington. It's about 30 mins outside Seattle Q3. Tell us a little about yourself. A. My name is Drew, I am 31 years old and I've gone back to college to get my bachelors in IT. I have a background as a mechanic, and a ton of personal IT experience. I like building fast things, be that a computer system or a car. Over the last 5 years I have also gotten into long range target shooting, which is tons of fun. Why do I have to have expensive hobbies? Q4. What's the first video game that made an impression on you? A. That's a tough one and probably has several answers. The one that stands out the most, and that I played the longest, would have to be Everquest. Other games of note would have to be the Command and Conquer series and Goldeneye for N64. Q5. Why/When did you join the Fighting 13th? A. I made a post on Reddit looking for a group to play ARMA 3 with. Got several replies and the 13th just felt like the best fit. With the old website down I can't cheat and look up the date I joined now, but it was something like November 2015 iirc. Q6. Any notable memories from your time with the community? (Funny, sad, memorable, whatever) A. I remember a time in ARMA when we were moving in to take a town. As we go in, somebody mentioned to watch out for team kills, and not 10 seconds later, Stormhall TK'd someone! Q7. Have you met anyone from the community IRL? A. Yes! Hopefully I will get to meet more in the next year as well. Went to a local RenFaire with Lennoxx. Hoping to get some people together next September for PAX. Q8. What types of games do you usually play? A. Anything really. Except sports games and fighting games... damn button mashers... Q9. What's your guilty pleasure game? A. Don't really have anything specific, but probably Simulator games. I may or may not have wasted hours doing random shit in them. Q10. What is one game you feel every person should play at least once? A. This one varies a bit by genre really, but i'm torn between CounterStrike 1.5 or Civilization 5. Sadly, some games that belong here no longer exist. Looking at you Ultima Online and Everquest. Q11. What would you like to see from the Fighting 13th in the next 6 - 12 months? A. I honestly don't know. It has been nice seeing the recent growth. However I feel like we are lacking a good shooter to really get behind at the moment, Battlefield 1 just didn't have the spark that it needed to really draw people in. Q12. Would you rather fight a horse sized duck, or 100 duck sized horses? Explain. A. I would rather fight a horse sized duck than 100 duck sized horses... Better odds. Plus, when I win, they are delicious.

The monthly Newsletter serves you curated content from around the community. We hope you enjoy this month's issue! October 2018 Member of the Month Member of the Month Award - Dutch @Dutch wins the coveted Member of the Month Award for October 2018 for his activity and organizational efforts. This past month, Dutch has been one of the most active, if not the most active, members within the community. He has organized a community-wide TTS event which received rave reviews (or so I hear...). On top of that, he owns and plays nearly every game the community plays, all while managing work and school. Congratulations! Little is it known that he has been here for virtually the entire history of the community itself--I personally recruited him from a RHIB off the shores of Oman (Gulf of Oman Map in BF2) on a fateful July day in 2009. It's been a pleasure having him here with us ever since. I have to shoehorn this factoid into every commendation regarding dutch Secret Santa 2018 It's that time of year again! Winter is coming! And with it, Secret Santa! Secret Santa is a tradition within the Fighting 13th we have been doing where members give gifts to other members anonymously. Members are assigned a member to gift usually with a set maximum limit. This usually leads to some funny game exchanges, but also some fairly high-end games, especially with the Steam winter sale happening. If you're interested, contact @BillyBantam or @Lennoxx for more information. Look for more concrete details in the next newsletter. Signup HERE. Give a gift, get a gift, and earn a ribbon doing it! Members Shop and Points System Something new we're trying out is a points system based on activity and a Members Shop where you can redeem these points for actual (and not-so-actual-but-fun) prizes! Think of an online Dave and Buster's... Prizes will include games and game keys (we already have Overwatch, Hearts of Iron IV, Hitman, 7 Days to Die, etc), tangible gifts and items, and other weird quirky things (the ability to "buy" an emoji slot on the Discord server...the ability to "buy" reputation points...etc.). Which actions constitute how many number of points hasn't yet been finalized. More on that in the next newsletter. For now, what you need to know is that you will earn these points for: Creating content (Posts, events, images) Attending Events (by RSVPing to events) Recruitment (each recruit will be worth so many number of points) Awards Activity in general (Points for logging in daily, points for discord activity, etc) Other features of this new system is the ability to see the items you have purchased, a log of your purchases and points earned, statistics, and a bank which can you can deposit points and earn interest on later. Winter Activity Decline PSA Winter (or for @mekline, Summer) is an odd time for us in the Fighting 13th. I figure most, or at least many, people would assume Winter to be a more active time in the community than the other seasons based on the colder weather, the litany of good games that may or may not have just come out (or are about to), and the off time from work or school that is taken (or given). Well...this isn't the case...nor is it usually the case for us, unfortunately. The time off is usually spent (well) with friends and family, or traveling to see them. This is a completely normal cycle within the community that will go away come January 2nd. This is not to say this place will become a ghost town, there's still events going on and there's still people to play with--our operational tempo is just not as high this time of year, as you'll see be a theme in the next few paragraphs. Fret not. That is all for this PSA. ARMA III/ Deathdealers Company News Effective 30 Oct 18 the old server was put to rest and the new server became the only one running. The new server and teamspeak info can be found in the #arma_deathdealers chat under pinned messages. Also effective immediately, we will be dropping down to biweekly Tac Tuesday to account for the holiday season and all-around low turn out, and this will run until the New Year. Coming up this month will be the release of Operation Phoenix, an ongoing persistent mission against CSAT forces on Altis using the ALiVE framework. Details to come. We would also like to give a shout out to @Nitehawk for his consistent presence this past month for Tac Tuesday, special events, and assisting with testing and mission planning. As always we appreciate our members coming out for each event and keeping us alive, and welcome feedback from the community at large on our missions. If anyone has any requests for missions they'd like to see or do, please submit them to the Arma 3 forum on the Fighting 13th website https://www.fighting13th.com/forums/forum/35-arma/ . If you don't see a reply within a day or so, please ping @copat149 and let him know as he is human and forgets to do things every now and then Escape from Tarkov / Vikings Company News Patch notes for 0.10.5 were revealed. No release date yet but we can suspect that it will be within the next couple of weeks. The important bits are pretty much the same as what was stated in the October newsletter except for it being a full wipe rather than a partial wipe. Raids and player counts have decreased as they always do during the end of a patch's life cycle, but we look forward to players returning when the fresh wipe hits. Check out the reddit thread for patch notes: HERE. Congratulations to @KosherHam013, @TheRoyalPanda, and @BoltActionHero for receiving the EFT Service Ribbon Contact @[13th] Exiduslol, @Scags, or @Daytex for more information. Sea of Thieves / Buccaneers Company News It's been somewhat quiet on the sea, but that should change soon with what's in store. There will be two more expansions this year: Shrouded Spoils will be released in November and the second, which will be revealed on the 10th of November, later this year. Shrouded Spoils will come laden with cosmetic upgrades that gives pirates access to more ship customization, including wheel and cannon cosmetic options. It will also introduce fog into the world with special loot only to be found within it. Commendations and specific goals for pirate legends are also coming. Game critics should prepare to take back some of their criticisms as the game world is slowly growing and mechanics progressing. Pirates unite once more, and get that booty. Contact @Chris P Bacon for more information. Star Citizen / Advocacy Company News Alpha Patch 3.3.0m has been released to the PTU, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: PTU-958784. Citizencon 2948 happened. Click here for a recap of all the updates slated for the future in Star Citizen. Squadron 42 Trailer Contact @TheReal Kyle and @Rorschach for more information. World of Warships / Hydras Company / Stingrays Company News It has been a slow month with regards to WOWS as we are still in the offseason. Ranked Battles ended during the month and now we eagerly await the Clan Battles season! We also had the annual 'Spooktober' in-game event and a group of us salty sailors managed to complete the event on 'Hard' mode with a single destroyer left floating, hardly floating I must add. That was pretty epic. October saw the return of seaman @wesz33 after spending a considerable time cod fishing. And frazcon who was the captain of the destroyer in the aforementioned Spooktober game. We welcome both members back. The finals of our semi-annual Stormwolfe Cup were held which saw North American side ('murica) take the victory (albeit with a bit of help from some EU members) . A congratulations is in order for NA on their first win in our intra-clan battles! @Yasvar is arranging a get-together on Sundays called "Slaughter Sundays," which will be a nice addition to get the team playing together before the Clan Battles season starts. Wargaming launched a new ranked season at tier 5 which sought to test if allowing people to division up in ranked would be feasible. It has received mixed reviews but all in all, @5wi55_ch3353. and others think it's a welcome addition. And there currently is also a plan to release a cross-server clan battle mode which would enable the NA and EU sectors to test their mettle with the RU and ASIA servers. Contact @Shodprism (Stingrays Company NA), or @5wi55_ch3353. (Hydras Company EU) for more information. Upcoming Games This section will highlight games that are on our "watchlist" of potential games we want to get into. In this issue, we will highlight three games: Insurgency: Sandstorm We are still hugely looking forward to this...and we're hoping those who don't have it get it from a special someone in their lives as a Christmas gift Contact @Raven for event and other information. Battlefield V We are EAGERLY awaiting Battlefield V's launch! And just around the corner on November 9th, if you have Origin Access Premier, you can play early. If you're curious to see what maps will be in Battlefield V, take a look at this video: A quick description of each map (Thanks @Stixx! ? Narvik This looks like an infantry-focused map with two flavors of urban combat: close-quarters in the residential area and mid-to-long range in the industrial areas of the harbour town. Fjell 652 A mountain peak setting that pits infantry against planes. Good luck, infantry! The "extreme dynamic weather" can trigger vision-obscuring storms that should make life difficult for pilots. Plus it looks like there are plenty of AA emplacements around. Rotterdam We've played Rotterdam during Battlefield preview events. It's a nicely balanced map that has foot soldiers fighting for a bridge while tanks roam the streets below. Devastation An infantry-focused map set in icy ruins in the aftermath of Rotterdam. Twisted Steel The broken bridge in this map is supposedly the "biggest structure ever created for a Battlefield game". The bridge itself looks like an infantry bloodbath but there are marshlands for tanks to fight for around the bridge. Arras It's tanks vs infantry on this map set in France. Trench lines and bushes provide infantry cover and there's a big central church for snipers to camp in. Hamada The biggest map "at launch" (which suggests bigger ones later). Set in Africa, Hamada is inspired by World War 2's biggest tank battles. Aerodrome An axis airfield just recently bombed by allied planes. There's a massive killzone in the central hangar. Panzerstorm (post-launch) Arriving in Tides of War chapter one after launch, this tank-focused map is set in lovely Belgian countryside. Contact @BillyBantam for more information. HAPPY TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! It has been an honor leading you fine bunch. It has been a wild ride at some points. Today marks ten years from when the Fighting 13th (originally the 13th MEU) was established. We played basically the three games on my PC....Battlefield 2, Battlefield Heroes, and Age of Empires III. Age of Empires was never too big and Battlefield 2 died off, but Battlefield Heroes became our first game game, where we had an impressive seven squads at one point! Early 2010 came Battlefield: Bad Company 2 where we even doubled in size...and then a mutinous split came about which devastated us. We almost threw in the towel. Battlefield Play4Free (very short-lived game) came about and helped us to start picking up the pieces. We were a pretty formidable force in that relatively small game. We went on to place 4th in a Tournament (for money) out of 32 teams in what would be the only P4F Cup to happen. We had a set 10-14 members who practiced every other day or so, and we had tactics formulated--it really paid off. Battlefield 3 in 2011 is where we really started to mold our identity. We were on all three platforms (then) with six/seven squads dominating BF3 in public matches and scrims. Here is a picture of some of that history: I am not posting this picture just to gloat ;) This is one of my most memorable moments in the community. A 38 minute back-and-forth match on Grand Bazaar on Battlefield 3....intense--all 38 minutes of it. We had two infantry squads and a dedicated LAV/engineer squad roaming the four corner streets. The last few minutes we were down by maybe 100 tickets (whoever set this match up made it like 2000v2000 tickets). Everything was just clicking to us...we were all in sync. Communication was constant but not overbearing. Squads were going down, but were not being wiped out completely. It was awesome. My armpits were extremely sweaty after that, my body was trembling.....you would have thought I had just ran a 5K....and I'm sure those other 11 teammates felt the same way I did. After BF3 started to decline, Battlefield 4 came along. It's where we have most of our current core members from. And then 1-2 years after it was released, it died down and a new game appeared. In the early half of the community, our population seemed to swell and decline coincidentally with each new Battlefield game that came out. Nowadays, games do not seem to last as long. The games that we also played alongside these games include the likes of Halo, Killzone 3, Planetside 2, Counter Strike, Call of Duty, The Division, and many more. In 2015, another monumental piece of software came out...Discord. We adopted it in 2016. It changed the dynamic of the two decades of clanning and clan history before it. In 2018, we lost Stormwolfe. He was then commanding the Stingrays Squadron (WOWS NA Group). He will forever be in our memory. Six years prior, we lost a dear friend and clan mate, Purplevine, due to a drunken driving accident in the UK. These were among our lowest moments. May their souls rest in peace and may their memories last in our hearts and their loved one's forever. Currently, the community plays ARMA III, Battlefield V, Escape from Tarkov, Insurgency: Sandstorm, Mordhau, Rocket League, Sea of Thieves, The Division 2, and World of Warships, among other games. We have over 200 AWESOME members and we are always looking for more. Thank you all for everything you do. You make this community very pleasurable for me as well as others. The cover picture depicts Colonel Joe W Kittinger making an extremely high-altitude jump from the edge of space in 1960. I chose it because our 10 year anniversary marks the 50th anniversary of the Moon landings. Also, it symbolizes our future, and how we are always looking for more. Here's to our future. Happy ten years! If you have any awesome memories from your time here, please share them with us here! Also, here's our old old website if you want to really go look at a time capsule: http://13thmeu.forumotion.com/forum View full record

The monthly Newsletter serves you curated content from around the community. We hope you enjoy this month's issue! Happy New Years! Bring on 2019! Happy New Years! I hope everybody enjoyed their New Years with friends and family. 2018 was an eventful year. Let us briefly recap on some of the things that happened: Early in the year, we made the switch from Guilded to our own website. Guilded served us well, and was a good tool for management, recruitment, and event planning. However, the need arose for our own home to be built (again), and voila! The website is still a work in progress, but we have been making great strides in making it more user-friendly and functional to the common user, you guys. Please let us know of any suggestions or bugs or concerns here. We lost a friend. The unfortunate passing of our dear friend, @Stormwolfe came upon us in July. He was leading the NA side of the World of Warships group when unexpectedly, he passed away. We did not know right at the time, but the World of Warships guys knew something was not right and looked into the situation. We bounced back. New units opened up for new games. And older games and units came out better than ever. World of Warships became the strongest it has ever been this year warring it out in each Clan Battles season. ARMA and the Deathdealers came back from the dead and became an active unit within the community again, with new missions every few weeks. We saw Sea of Thieves become a unit within the Buccaneers, and we saw that unit expand into a new pirate game: Atlas. Escape from Tarkov slowly but steadily grew into a scav-killing machine. Battlefield V became a hit, and with it, our Red Devils and Screaming Eagles Companies--combined they have over 70 members. And at the end of the year Insurgency: Sandstorm became a unit within the community, and are a becoming a force to be reckoned with, led by the fearsome Raven. It sounds really cliché, but I believe 2018 was a great year for the community, and 2019 will be an even better one for us. Hip hip, hooray for the Fighting 13th! _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2018 End the Year Awards With the end of the year comes end of year awards. There are six different awards we would like to present. Without any further ado: Member of the Year - Raven @Raven is being awarded the Fighter's Cross, the highest award in the land, for winning this year's Member of the Year competition. Raven is as about gung-ho for the Fighting 13th Community as one can be. Raven will play any and all games with the community. He's always setting up all sorts of events for members to participate in, and when he's not doing the actual organizing, he's seeing how he can fit x, y, and z events into his personal schedule. If there is a new game within the Fighting 13th, odds are Raven is going to be right there playing alongside us. Raven is always looking out for the collective good. I had a conversation with him which I think embodies this the most, and the gist of it was that he's not getting paid for his work he's doing at the moment during the US government's shutdown, and his main worry was and are that the Coast Guardsmen under his purview are able to financially support himself. Raven is always thinking like this. Lastly, Raven stepped up into leadership late 2018 to kickstart the opening of our Insurgency: Sandstorm unit. Anything thrown at Raven he can accomplish. Officer of the Year - Copat149 @copat149 is being awarded the Silver Star, the second highest award within the community, for his efforts as an Officer and leader within the community. Copat not only helps out where needed, he excels at it. He truly embodies the idea of a servant-leader by making sure not only his, but other, personnel are being taken care of. Rookie of the Year - Forked @Forked is being awarded the Silver Star, the second highest award within the community, for his efforts and activity for his first year here. Forked joined in early 2018 for Sea of Thieves. He rose to become one of the most active members within the community, specifically #5 on the Discord server's leaderboard rankings. Forked is always friendly and welcoming to new members, especially at those odd times of the day for the server (EU early morning times). And forked is very technically savvy, where being an active contributor to the #Tech_Talk channel giving his $0.02 and advice to others regarding the latest tech. Recruiter of the Year - Predacon @Predacon is being awarded the Bronze Star, the third highest award within the community, for winning Recruiter of the Year. Predacon recruited over 25 members in 2018. Well done! Donor of the Year - 5wi55_ch3353 @5wi55_ch3353. is being awarded the Bronze Star, the third highest award within the community, for winning Donor of the Year. Swiss has donated over $100 USD to further our cause. Thank you tons! Discordian of the Year - Locutus @Locutus is being awarded the Bronze Star, the third highest within the community, for winning Discordian of the Year. Locutus has reached level 50 on our Discord Server. Bravo! Honorable Mentions There are many honorable mentions, most of which we will fit into the game/unit news sections, but I could not find a better place to fit this citation than here...enjoy: @wesz33 - Crazy Award (as submitted by @5wi55_ch3353.. The veracity of the story cannot be confirmed). He‘s off to join the Norwegian army this month and will be sorely missed. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Secret Santa 2018 Comes to an End What a Secret Santa this year's was! We had over 30 participants, the most ever. We hope you all enjoy it and participate in next year's Secret Santa. If you participated, you will earn the Secret Santa Ribbon if you have not already earned it. Youtube Video Introduction Contest Results We want to thank everyone who participated in our YouTube intro contest. Both those who submitted entries and those who took the time to vote on the finalist. Copat, Billybantam, and PhaseVortX all submitted some great work, with @BillyBantam coming out on top with this submission. Here is the winning video introduction that will be displayed on videos we post to Youtube: Member of the Month Award - @Goatch33se Goatch33se is an extremely active new member who seems to get along well with everyone new and old. He has proven himself a great asset to the community so far by recruiting over 10 new members. Goatch33se's high level of activity and his superb recruitment efforts win him this month's coveted Member of the Month award. Congratulations ARMA III/ Deathdealers Company News 2018 was one HELL of a year, especially for the Fighting 13th and the DEATHDEALERS. We have had many great accomplishments, but one that really sticks out over the last year has been the return of Tactical Tuesday, and the Resurrection of the DeathDealers. We made the announcement back in May 2018 that we would be bringing Tactical Tuesday back. Everyone was pretty excited, but I do not think any of us knew how much we were all going to enjoy it. With our dedicated mission makers delivering us something fresh every week, we played through many scenarios. Whether we were rescuing downed pilots in our First mission “King Two Lima," clearing safe passage through hostile forces in Iraq during the “Able Sentry” campaign, or hunting down our arch enemy VLAD, it was always interesting, and more importantly, fun. For all this we owe Copat, and Weabus a huge thank you. You guys went above and beyond last year and we all appreciate your work. With 2019 underway we have no intentions on slowing down. We have huge plans for Arma and the Deathdealers. We are kicking it into gear with the “KAWATORA” campaign kicking off on January 15th. This three-part campaign will be based in Cambodia, where we will be going against a new Triad known as the Yangon. There are still some slots available, so if anyone has any interest in joining us head on over to the calendar post and hit that RSVP button. A big hearty congratulations goes to @WeabusUltimas -- his leadership nominated him for the Golden Goat award, an award for the Deathdealer that stood out the most in terms of activity and support, among other things. Also, honorable mention to @Jfranklin94--his activity shot through the roof this last year. We are extremely glad to have him around here. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to @cJack or @copat149 Battlefield V News The current state of the game is really good. DICE have been listening to the community, shown by them quickly withdrawing the TTK changes and are working on fixing the biggest issue right now: TTD. December saw the start of the first part of Tides of War, which saw players needing to complete challenges to unlock new items. This has seen great focus from our Battlefield players, whom work together daily and weekly to accomplish the various milestones. Recruitment has been continuing at a steady pace and we now have a solid core of regular players playing the game. And now that the holidays are out of the way, we will look to push further on this and try to recruit some of the new players playing the game. Also coming up, the BF team will start implementing the first batch of ribbons for you all to earn from us. Look out for any announcements! Congratulations to @Stixx for his promotion to Lieutenant. He will be assisting Billybantam with the running of the Red Devils Company. Escape from Tarkov / Vikings Company News Efadf There are many big changes in store with the upcoming patch for Escape from Tarkov. See them here. Aside from that, we are looking to ramp up events for the community this new year. Stay tuned for more information. Congratulations to @KosherHam013 for winning our highly-coveted Tarkovian of the Year Award. Kosher is very active in the game, well-versed in all the many aspects of the game, and is always watching your six. Check out the #hideout chat on Discord or join the Escape Room to squad up and kill some scavs with us! Contact @[13th] Exiduslol, @Scags, or @Daytex for more information. Sea of Thieves/Atlas / Buccaneers Company News It's been a good year for booty and many miles have been sailed! We have had many good times with the new seamen and sailors aboard. The grog (beer) has been flowing and laughter has been shared. A member we thought was lost at sea has come back out of the fog. A successful year has been had for the Buccaneers. In December, the Buccaneers Company expanded to include the game Atlas. We pirates unite under one banner, for the time being...call it an accord of sorts (Pirates of the Caribbean reference). The game is in very early access, but it has given us much fun already. We run our own server (courtesy of forked) even. At the moment we are running at 2x2 PvE map, but a 3x2 PvP/PvE map will be launched later this month. There has been an influx in new members for Atlas, many of whom are good friends with current members. Also, Congratulations to the following members: Pirate of the Year: @Elephantagon. Sailed : 3937370 m Legendary Pirate of the year: @Forked. Sailed : 4877435 m As always, come join us to experience the life on the high seas like we see it in either Sea of Thieves or Atlas! Contact @Chris P Bacon for more information. World of Warships / Hydras Company / Stingrays Company News The World of Warships gang has been in Clan Battles mode the whole month of December--no rest for the weary! The EU side has seen an uptick in active members, so much so that we have been able to run two teams on occasions for clan battles and currently have two teams sitting in Gold (storm league) rankings. Reaching Gold was our goal at the start of the season, something we handily achieved relatively early in the season. Our aims are even higher now. With the current roster improving every week in terms of game play and tactics and activity, we are hoping for a serious push for the next league (Typhoon). This season has already seen a massive increase in battles played for the EU side and as such might be considered the most successful one yet for the community. Aside from Clan Battles, December also saw the introduction of Ranked Sprint 2--this time with battles being played at Tier 6 in a 5v5 scenario. Update 0.8.0 went into PTS with the upcoming Aircraft carrier rework. And steel became more readily available to players willing to spend a bit of money or players owning ships in game. As such the clan has already seen its first steel ships in its harbor. Congratulations to @Yasvar for becoming Captain of the Year. Capt_Teek has also been a regular and recurring member of Hydras Company's efforts in WOWS's Clan Battles mode--he has been voted #1 WOWS player within the Fighting 13th unanimously by everyone here...or so we've heard . In all seriousness, Capt_Teek displays an abundantly positive attitude, and it shows in how much the WOWS group adores him, and in how well he is able to recruit fellow sailors. He is open-minded and he takes genuine pleasure in being able to assist in any way he can, especially new folks. With all this being said, we would like to give Capt_Teek a hearty congratulations on winning MOTM! Battlefield V Red Devils Company Established With the release of Battlefield V on November 20th, our newest unit, Red Devils Company, has been established and has already swelled to 57 current members as of this typing, with 2 or 3 coming in every day or so wishing to play with or join. Named for the British 6th Airborne Division which famously fought in Arnhem during Operation Market Garden, we aim to model ourselves after them using cunning tactics and tenacity to beat and out and route our enemy. @BillyBantam is taking charge of the helm of Red Devils with @copat149 at his side. We welcome all of our new members and recruits, and urge everyone in "Recruit" status on Discord to apply on this website to formally join the Fighting 13th. Perks include shiny tags, being considered for Member of the Month, awards, recommendations, prizes, a sense of belonging and other cool stuff. On December 5th, the first content drop was released with the Chapter 1: Overture update adding in checks and balances as well as a new map. On December 6th, the Tides of War will start and along with it brings us new assignments, equipment and customization options to work towards. Our members, recruits, and anyone else who has the urge is welcome to join us Sundays and Wednesdays for SQUAD UP to play the game together and have a good time. We would also like to remind our new recruits and members that we actively encourage you to be a part of the community at large and participate in community events like Secret Santa, or just join in on our lively, albeit sometimes strange, conversations in the main chat or discussions on the forums. Thank you to everyone that has joined us thus far, and we are looking forward to continued growth and excitement for Battlefield V and our community. See you on the Battlefield! Scenes like this in BFV evoke images of 'Saving Private Ryan' and other movies. P.S. Please post your Origin usernames HERE and be on the lookout for discussions in the Battlefield V forum HERE. Secret Santa 2018 Secret Santa is a tradition within the Fighting 13th we have been doing where members give gifts to other members anonymously. Members are assigned a member to gift usually with a set maximum limit. This usually leads to some funny game exchanges, but also some fairly high-end games, especially with the Steam winter sale happening. Please note: Signups for Secret Santa can be done through THIS topic. The deadline for signing up will be December 13th! The Steam Winter Sale supposedly will start on December 20th and run for two weeks. We ask all participants to update their Steam Wishlists now. Secret Santas should buy and gift their present through Steam by January 2nd. If you are interested, please contact @Danius and @BillyBantam for more information, or ask away in the signup topic. Give a gift, get a gift, and earn a ribbon doing it! Advocacy Company (SC) Closing its Doors Leadership has decided to close down our Star Citizen unit, Advocacy Company. Interest in the game has fluctuated in the past, but at the moment is comparatively low. We will still be playing casually, and we will still be looking forward for updates as the game's development progresses. This is not a goodbye necessarily--more a "See you later." ARMA III/ Deathdealers Company News Deathdealers Company has been on a continued break this holiday season to accommodate players who are spending time with their families, as well as to allow time to enjoy new games that have released this past month. On December 18th, we will be holding our Christmas event to celebrate the holidays with everyone. We would like to welcome the presence of members both old and new to enjoy the holiday spirit with *Operation Dark Claus* where we will hunt down the elusive Santa Claus and his Elf Team Six in the Arctic North. This will be our last mission of 2018, and we look forward to running it with you all. Please RSVP! The ARMA III server swap-over was done successfully, and we have laid to rest our old server this past month. We will be starting regular Tactical Tuesday installments again every week at the beginning of the New Year in 2019-- we have a special mission set planned to kick everything off and we hope you are looking forward to it as much as we are. If you have any questions about what you need to do to join an Arma operation, how we operate, or any general questions regarding the game or our missions, please feel free to ask in the #deathdealers chat on the Discord server or PM @cJack or @copat149 with your questions. Also, we would like to give a shoutout to an old member who has returned with a fiery passion, @LeChefOmega! He is always excited and ready to play any op he can regardless of his past performance issues with the game. Hopefully, his new rig will put his poor FPS in the past and make him an Arma 3 pro! Teaser pic from the upcoming Operation Dark Claus event. Escape from Tarkov / Vikings Company News Exciting news has come from the Developers! They have released these notes in their announced pipeline for the game: Patch 0.11 will be released this year, for sure. But it will be downsized a little bit. As always, check out the #hideout chat on Discord or join the Escape Room to squad up and kill some scavs with us! Contact @[13th] Exiduslol, @Scags, or @Daytex for more information. Sea of Thieves / Buccaneers Company News Shrouded Spoils, the latest update, gives players a more "surprising" experience in Sea of Thieves, at least according to Kotaku. The latest update gives old foes new tricks by making enemies more plentiful, and kraken more slamming. Enemies also drop way way more loot and grant special commendations that can be spent on unique gear such as a golden cannons or a barnacle-encrusted ship hulls. For a while, enemy encounters were rare but Shrouded Spoils makes monster hunting an entirely viable activity for players sick and tired of digging up buried treasure. As always, come join us to experience the life on the high seas like we see it! Contact @Chris P Bacon for more information. World of Warships / Hydras Company / Stingrays Company News The WOWS group was still in its off-season phase until November 28th when the latest Clan Battles season started. Hydras Company (EU) has used the off-season to strengthen its roster and hone its skills. The next month will hopefully see us reach our minimum goal of getting Gold III ranking and hopefully pushing higher. The WOWS group's excitement for Clan Battles really showed--the group mustered 10 members the first day and 12 members the day after. With a few more of our players active, we could possibly be running two teams of seven this season which would be huge progress from hardly being able to muster seven members daily last season--Its competitive section will henceforth never be known as "THE NEVER SEVENS" again! If you are curious to see the status of Hydra Company's and Stingray Company's battles, check the #na_harbor and #eu_harbor chats on Discord. Also, to aid in our fearless Captains' battle management efforts, please post your Tier X ships HERE and check out the other topics in the World of Warships forum HERE. In addition to the WOWS group's continued success on the war path, the WOWS group also has had a steady influx of new members recently, thanks in large part to @Capt_Teek. Thank you Capt_Teek! Also, please congratulate @Pman on stepping up to lead the NA side, Stingrays Company. He has proven himself over the last couple months and we expect him to do so further in the time to come. Please contact him or @5wi55_ch3353. (Hydras Company EU) for more information. Upcoming Games This section will highlight games that are on our "watchlist" of potential games we want to get into. Insurgency: Sandstorm It is so close to releasing, we can almost taste it...Folks, that's right, release date is just around the corner on December 12th! You can try out Insurgency: Sandstorm's Open Beta December 7th through December 10th. Check out Raven's event for INS this Friday, December 7th HERE. Contact @Raven and check out THIS topic for more information or to ask any other questions. Raven will be taking lead of our INS squad. The monthly Newsletter serves you curated content from around the community. We hope you enjoy this month's issue! September 2018 Member of the Month Member of the Month Award - PhasevortX @PhaseVortX wins the coveted MOTM award for September 2018 for his excellent graphic creations, his dedicated work and in-depth and knowledgeable insights helping out website management, and hosting a fun TTS event. While this award is only for a member's actions and achievements during the monthly period, this underscores the fact that Vort has always been extremely dedicated to the Fighting 13th since he joined many moons ago (about 70 moons ago to be more specific...over 5½ years). I could write a whole newsletter-sized topic devoted to all Vort's done within the community, but I'll save you the trouble because this is just the MOTM section. I will say he is one of those rare individuals who is multi-facted is so many different skill areas...I would call him a virtual renaissance man. Congratulations on the award, Vort! You deserve it. Medal of Valor / Other Awards Last month, we announced the creation and implementation of Service Ribbons for members of the community for taking part in events and raids tailored for the games we play. This month, we're announcing our first "Medals," the Medal of Valor awards. These medals will be awarded specifically for in-game effort and heroics--whether it be for getting a double-digit kill streak or some kamikaze action that caused a chain-reaction of events to turn the tides of the game. Medal of Valor 1st ClassMedal of Valor 2nd ClassMedal of Valor 3rd Class Medal of Valor 4th Class These awards will be awarded based upon the level of raw skill and heroics shown, but also are contingent on the stakes of the competition--i.e. a clan tournament vs. a public match, or such as being atop a game-wide leaderboard vs. being atop a scoreboard in a single match. More information is forthcoming. Members will be able to earn these awards multiple times. Officers will have differing levels of award authority for the Medal of Valor awards. If you believe you or somebody else should be recommended for an award, let an officer know or submit an award recommendation HERE. Please congratulate our first three recipients of these awards: Medal of Valor 3rd Class - @L.A.M.Gunner Medal of Valor 4th Class - @Stracht Medal of Valor 4th Class - @Cyclops_123 These three individuals were known as the European Bombers during the EU's Stormwolfe Competition that happened on September 23rd. L.A.M.Gunner was the overall MVP of the event. Well done, guys. You definitely earned it. We will be retroactively awarding these awards in some circumstances. Also, thank Vort again for these beautiful creations! In other award news, we will be announcing more medals and more ribbons in the months to come. Stay tuned! Newsletter Feedback/Ideas/Suggestions The monthly newsletter has now been around for several months, and it's gotten rave reviews! Members old and new alike have given us positive feedback on the newsletter, and many have told us of how well-informed they have become (and have been since joining the clan x number of years ago). There's good reason for this. We spend a lot of time curating the best (and sometimes funniest) content for you to see and we spotlight different members' achievements and happenings. We also advertise it with an @Everyone mention on Discord, which instantaneously notifies all 500+ of our server users--and we keep all other @Everyone mentions to a minimum to prevent you all from muting those mentions (we'd like to keep @Everyone mentions for the most important topics and issues only). The newsletter has been mostly a product of just the few officers we have in the community. They have done an incredible job compiling this puzzle-of-a-newsletter for your information and entertainment. However, we would still like to hear feedback from the rest of you regarding your ideas and suggestions--anything you think we could do better. Anything we can implement for the betterment of the community newsletter, whether it be a new section, new periodicals, a different way to showcase something we already have on it, new graphics, etc. You name it! We'd like to hear it. Let us know on Discord or join the War Room forum discussion HERE to give us your inputs. ARMA III/ Deathdealers Company News September was another successful month for the Deathdealers. We continue to grow, and have an active player base with new players showing interest daily. We have been working with our EU player base to better accommodate times that work for them. We have decided to replay missions / host special events on Sundays as well as our regularly-scheduled Tactical Tuesday events. Our first Sunday event was held on the 29th of September and was titled Sci-Fi Sunday. It was a pretty big hit and brought a lot of new, and returning players back to Arma 3 with the community. We will keep having these events weekly, and we will keep pushing new content and exploring new ideas. All we need is all of you to show interest in our missions, give some feedback to the discussions on the discord, and most of all show up. We have some really cool things planned for the future, and the more players we have the more in-depth our missions can be. So spread the word, invite your friends, because we have only just begun. As always, if you have any questions feel free to contact @cJack and @copat149 directly via Discord. Escape from Tarkov / Vikings Company News Patch 0.10.5 and 0.11.0 have been announced and whereas the last patch focused mainly on bug fixes and optimizations, patch 0.10.5 and 0.11.0 will be more about content updates. On the Talking Tarkov podcast, Battlestate Games COO--Nikita, confirmed that patch 0.10.5 will introduce: Medical animations The Flea Market trading space New Mosin mods The MP7 PDW Seasonal-based ranking system for the current game mod "as a test" A partial wipe Patch 0.11.0 will release later on and will introduce a new test map, the Terra Group labs. It will contain "tactical scav raiders" that are more aggressive then the scavs we have now and they will actively hunt you as you navigate the map. The new weapons for this patch include the SVD sniper/designated marksman rifle, the H&K M416 and the FN Scar MK16. Other features that are coming with 0.11.0 include the introduction of character customization with each faction getting their own new sets of available clothing. The compass system will finally be added to help in land navigation and directing fire during skirmishes. A new scav boss by the name of "Killa" will be introduced into the Interchange map and will sport an RPK-16, rare loot and cheeky slaved out heavy armor. There is no set date for 0.10.5 but we can be expected release around October or early November. A full list of planned and soon to be added content and improvements can be found on the EFT sub reddit HERE. In other news, please join us for our public raids. They are incredibly fun and entertaining...side effects include sitting on your computer chair for hours at a time, getting shot in the face, losing months' worth of gear in a single moment, degenerative addiction to EFT, and wanting to do it all over again. Contact @[13th] Exiduslol, @Scags, or @Daytex for more information. Sea of Thieves / Buccaneers Company News Cursed sails was released on September 19th. It was a free DLC for Sea of Thieves, and with the update we have gotten: A larger map, with the area added featuring lots of active volcanoes and boiling hot water (and chests and skulls from this area pay double) 15 new islands and some smaller merchant islands A new way of interacting with barrels and crates (A loot-all function) Rowboats Lots of new cosmetics, as usual with these kinds of updates Join us on our rumboats, we have rum! We have fun...when THIS isn't happening ? Contact @Chris P Bacon for more information. Star Citizen / Advocacy Company News First and foremost, we would like to congratulate @Rorschach on becoming the Advocacy Company Executive Officer (XO). He will be assisting Kyle in creating events and running raids, and of course the behind-the-scenes administrative fun we officers love. Star Citizen and Advocacy Company are searching for new and old members alike to fly and crew the 'verse. With the addition of new missions on the ground and in the air, we will need as much manpower as we can get--starting with but not limited to, fully crewing an Aegis Hammerhead to secure the UEE-controlled space to exterminate pirate scum. We're looking for individuals that are interested in not only combat, but all aspects of the available universe: cargo running, mining, racing, ground control and security. So, please join the gang in undertaking one of the most ambitious patches of Star Citizen so far...o7. We are still very much looking forward to CITIZENCON 2948 on October 10th in Austin, TX! The livestream will start with Chris Roberts's much sought-after keynote demo and will be followed by different panels through the week. The event culminates in a final show with Chris Roberts hosting a panel called “Road to Release." Stay tuned on Discord, check for forum discussions and announcements for any upcoming events leading to Citizencon, and be on the lookout for a big group-up on Discord to watch the livestream and revel in all its glory. Contact @TheReal Kyle and @Rorschach for more information. World of Warships / Hydras Company / Stingrays Company News First, please welcome and congratulate @5wi55_ch3353. as the new Executive Officer for the Hydras Company! He's done an excellent job organizing the troops already, and has already proven himself a viable link between World of Warships members and leadership. World of Warships is currently in ranked season 10. Do not let the name deceive you, as even though it is "ranked," most World of Warships players in the Stingrays and Hydras Companies would rather be fightin' in Clan Battles. To offset the seemingly perpetual seeming-boredom from the relatively "quiet" time that is the Clan Battles offseason, the World of Warships group has been trying their utmost to keep a lively attitude and spirit. On September 23rd, the World of Warships group hosted the first periodical Stormwolfe Cup. It was a huge success! The winning team was the European Bombers: L.A.M.Gunner, Stracht, and Cyclops. Congratulations, again! We would like to give a HUGE shoutout to @Yasvar for setup and coordination of the event. Thank you! Most players are grinding out the ranked levels, which many find tedious, but important in keeping their individual and combined skill levels honed for the next Clan Battles season. Even still though, the group has been able to have tonnes (see if you catch the joke ) of fun every weekend. Please join in on the fun! Also, congratulations to @Arndawg who became ranked 26th in all of the EU in the "Highest Damage with the Minotaur-class Ship" Category with 333,519 damage! And congratulations to @Duckie for being the first member of the community to reach rank one in the tenth season of ranked gameplay. Impressive accomplishments, gents! And congratulations on your medals for these! Contact @Predacon, @Shodprism (Stingrays Company NA), or @5wi55_ch3353. (Hydras Company EU) for more information. Upcoming Games This section will highlight games that are on our "watchlist" of potential games we want to get into. In this issue, we will highlight three games: Insurgency: Sandstorm Since last month's newsletter, Insurgency: Sandstorm has had weekly 13th events and has continued to receive updates to squash bugs and optimize the game during the Beta. Events have been packed with action, and with all the recent updates, the game is running better and better. The developers have very high standards for where they want Sandstorm to be before release and feel they still have some work left to reach those standards. With that being said, the developers have decided to delay the release date until December 12th, as we found out last month. While it is nice to have a game reach full release, this was a solid decision by the devs. Sandstorm still needs optimization and games that get released unfinished tend to struggle to find a player base (cough, Mass Effect Andromeda, cough ? ). This new release date will not only allow the devs the time they need to fully optimize the game, but also gives gamers more time to get the pre-order discount and join the Beta ? . As Sandstorm devs release updates and hold Q&A sessions, @Raven posts "cliff notes" in the Discord Insurgency Sandstorm chat to keep the 13th informed. In the most recent Q&A the devs discussed their road map up to and post-December 12th release. For the remainder of the Beta, they will continue to work on optimization, balance, and bug squashing. During that process, they will continue to rotate through available maps and game modes to better focus efforts. Post-December 12th launch, the Devs will shift the bulk of their efforts to adding more content to the game to include more modes, weapons, player customization, player servers, support for the mod community, and much more. Check the Sandstorm calendar and Discord chat for future weekly events every other Wednesday and Friday and hit that RSVP button! Contact @Raven for more information. Battlefield V Many of us die-hard Battlefield-series fans are still looking forward to BFV's release in November...and are attempting to occupy our time elsewhere in the meantime. Not much news this month regarding Battlefield V has come out, except we did learn of some of the weapons that will be in the game at release. Contact @BirdDog2043 for more information. Other Games World War 3 will have an early access release this month. Members have been spotted enjoying Forza Horizon 4, which released earlier this month. Assassin's Creed Odyssey released earlier this month. Red Dead Redemption 2 will release later this month. Shenanigans spottings have been reported in Louisiana, but also at Yellowstone National Park. If you see him, please report him to the proper authorities. @BoltActionHero has rejoined the EFT group halfway into its latest patch and has already caught up to the higher-level players. Rest assured, he has been signed up for mandatory addiction counseling. @TheRoyalPanda was happy for the gear he just looted, as his teammates were lying dead around him. Some Vikings Company members believe this to be a conspiracy. @Pandas5560 had a stomach bug. Hope it's all better, buddy! @CS42R and @Jfranklin94 caught @cursedkable playing a weird "game." I can't repeat it here.... @Lennoxx was killed by a Facehugger in an ARMA Op. RIP. @Nitehawk immersed himself in an ARMA Op taking place in the cold of Norway by lowering his room temperature really low. Unrelated, his electric bill has also skyrocketed this month. @Wulfie was really sad to learn that a Wednesday was not the weekend. @RJBViking traveled to Oslo for a Rocket League tournament. Alrighty then. Lot of things happened here. I joined 13th years ago. Don't even remember when, I think in the first years, around 2011. There are a couple of known faces, but lots of new too. I like that. Shortly after my Member Spotlight, i left this group. I "sadly" sold my PC because it took way too much of my time after I moved to a different city for my Bachelor's Degree. It's really awesome to see how this group changed! Maybe maybe I'll get back to gaming a bit, but probably not very soon. Gotta finish my degree first! Can't wait to check everything new out here!

New Newsletter Try saying that five times fast! We are starting up a monthly newsletter again. Its main goal is to keep you informed of what’s happening in the community and to spotlight certain members, achievements, awards, events, job postings and other things. We plan on releasing these the first few days of each new month. This first issue is intended to be more of a "baseline" newsletter, whereas the future newsletters will be slightly different. Let's get right to it! Community Status and Anniversary The community quietly turned nine years old on July 20th. July was a relatively quiet month in terms of activity so celebrations were not exactly taking place. Expect a bigger celebration for our 10-year anniversary...possibly IRL... Passing of Stormwolfe @Stormwolfe aka Benedict M. "Buddy" Cardillo of Paramus, NJ, passed away July 16th, 2018. Stormwolfe joined our community just under a year ago but quickly became an integral member and very rapidly rose to the officer rank. He was instrumental in growing and shaping our hugely successful World of Warships Stingrays Company. Many of you are a part of this community thanks to his selfless efforts and friendly and supportive personality. Stormwolfe was a devoted teacher with a passion for gaming and was an active member of his local D&D community. He had an intense passion for World War II history and softball, and spent many a long night discussing both intensively with our members. Stormwolfe is survived by his two children Calvin and Sharon, and his former spouse Sylvia. He passed a couple of weeks ago but if you would like to reach out to his relatives you may be able to find some additional information here. May his memory be a blessing. News from the Senior Council Once again, August is upon us and that means it's time for our quarterly Senior Council Meeting. Once every three months the senior members of the Community gather together to discuss the current direction, atmosphere and general experience the Fighting 13th is providing for new and old members from a non-leadership point of view. The Senior Council is run by a Chairman elected from among the Senior Members whose job is to organize these meetings and to be the bridge between the community and the leadership. For those curious about the Senior Council and who wish to provide feedback about the community please contact the current Senor Council Chairman @WeabusUltimas. ARMA / Deathdealers Company News Our ARMA III Company is back and better than ever!!! Over the past few months, the Deathdealers have risen back to become one of our most active divisions once again with the return of Tactical Tuesday. Tactical Tuesday consists of custom missions built for us by our community members, including things like the Able Sentry Campaign which took 5 weeks to complete! If you love Arma and have been itching for something to play, now would be a great time to check it out. Weekly events are posted to the calendar. Check them out. Hit that RSVP button! We hope to see you at our future events. Any questions can be directed to @cJack here or on Discord. Escape from Tarkov / Vikings Company News We Patch 0.9 released on July 18th--check out patch notes here. Recruitment has been put into "overdrive" from what @[13th] Exiduslol, Company Commander of Vikings Company, has told us (I guess he mixed up his games ). As far as events go, the Vikings are looking at starting a set weekly time for events, starting with the EFT Squad Up event on Saturday, August 11th. If you own EFT and are free then, come join! And lastly, if you're looking for a good reason to get into this game, there's a 15% pre-order discount. If you have any questions, please contact @[13th] Exiduslol or @Scags. Sea of Thieves / Buccaneers Company News Most evenings the Buccaneers have a crew of a handful of members sailing the seas and rummaging the ports. We are more than happy to take new (or as we call them, "landlubbers") sailors and train them to be the fearsome pirates everyone knows we are today. We rule the seas. We never sink (unless @Forked isn't following the rules of the road ). Few crews match up to the strength, ferocity, barbarity, and alcohol tolerance of us pirates, yaaargh! Also, Sea of Thieves has had a few content updates since release as well as events that add a bit more to the world. The latest update was for Cursed Sails. Click here for more information. @Benny_07 was so excited for this update, he wrote this poem: Beautiful. Anyways, contact @Chris P Bacon if you are interested in playing with or joining the Buccaneers for some sea trials Star Citizen / Advocacy Company News Star Citizen is always readily available to explore, mine, trade and to find and hunt whenever you like. SC is currently in 3.2.1 patch--a very stable patch. RSI have really made persistence a key feature in this update--it includes the amazing feature of logging out anywhere in space or planet with a bed in your ship. Along with new ships and weapons, most interestingly was the fact that stealth has now been implemented--so you can become sneaky sneaky. @TheReal Kyle is the main point of contact for Star Citizen/Advocacy matters, but he is in the process of moving. He has intermittent access to the nets. With that being said, @Raven and @Rorschach are organizing events in his stead, with previous events held once every one-to-three weeks in the three different game modes: Arena Commander, Star Marine and the PU (Persistence Universe). With the PU gradually growing in each new patch, expect more events within the PU. Though, keep an eye out for announcements regarding any upcoming events. And if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask. We will make sure you are locked and loaded, citizen. World of Warships / Hydras Company / Stingrays Company News World of Warships within the clan is going from strong to stronger, with numbers rising rapidly since August of last year. We have been taking part in the clan wars function within the game getting to Gold league each season. On July 14th, the Clash of the 13th tournament between the NA and EU sides was held. It was streamed live on twitch with peak viewership reaching 15 unique viewers. Congratulations @howells5 on winning! However, with the extremely sad passing of our NA leader Stormwolfe, we have decided to rename the cup in his honor and hopefully host it quarterly throughout the year. Hopefully the first official installment of the new cup will be created in September or October of this year. Be on the lookout for that. Looking forward, we will be recruiting new members and taking part in more of the Ranked Season and the Clan Wars. Contact @Coldfreeze for more information. Upcoming Games This section will highlight games that are on our "watchlist" of potential games we want to get into. In this issue, we will highlight three games: Post Scriptum Post-Scriptum is a 40vs40, teamworked-based, first-person shooter set on the battlefields of WWII. The game uses the same core as Squad, but with a lot of other gameplay tweaks under the hood. These tweaks allow the game to feel different from it's cousin and create a better emphasis on teamwork. Why is Post-Scriptum more teamwork based than Squad? The main difference is squad types, the spawn system, and kits. In PS there are 4 different squad types; Platoon Commander, Infantry, Logistics, and Armored. Each squad type is limited in purpose and abilities. Spawns cannot be created by Infantry squads other than the usage of two available MSPs (Mobile Spawn Points) which can be destroyed by the enemy. Otherwise, the team has to rely on the logistics squad with the creation of Foward Operating Bases. For better defense and pushes, the commander's bombing and the armored division's vehicles are essential to create pressure on the enemy. Even within the infantry units, their chosen kits puts them on specific objectives. Everyone will find something suited to their playstyle in Post-Scriptum so don't be afraid to try them all. How is the pacing? The pacing varies per map layout and the teams themselves, it's never been a consistent pace. Most matches will last awhile as objectives have a timer protection system to allow the defense to set up each time a point is taken. This allow matches to maintain a good pacing without a steam-roll effect that sometimes occurs in Squad. If you're interested in the game and/or have questions feel free to contact @Global Papi. Insurgency: Sandstorm Insurgency: Sandstorm is the next installment of the Insurgency series. Built on Unreal Engine 4, it retains the classic hardcore gameplay Insurgency is known for and expands upon it further with new features like larger environments, light drivable vehicles, competitive matchmaking support, and more. Insurgency: Sandstorm will have the same great, quick-paced, hardcore gameplay with Co-Op PvE, PvP, and Competitive modes. Insurgency: Sandstorm hits a sweet spot for FPS that the 13th is missing. With its quick gamplay it offers a change of pace from other 13th FPS favorites. With the announcment of Sandstorm, many of the Fighting 13th have blown the dust off their original Insurgency while other 13th members have purchased it in preperation for Sandstorm. Insurgency: Sandstorm will release in September 2018 for $29.99, but if you pre-order, you will get a 10% discount (20% if you own the original Insurgency) and you will get Beta access a few weeks prior to release. Additional information and media can be found on the Insurgency: Sandstorm website here. Contact @Raven or @cJack for more information. Battlefield V Enter mankind’s greatest conflict with Battlefield™ V as the series goes back to its roots in a never-before-seen portrayal of World War 2. Take on immersive, all-out multiplayer with your squad in experiences like the vast Grand Operations and the cooperative Combined Arms, or witness human drama set against global combat in the single player War Stories. As you fight in epic, unexpected locations across the globe, enjoy the richest and most immersive Battlefield yet. Quick Facts Operations mode gets an upgrade, introducing Grand Operations. Grand Operations is tabbed as the ‘ultimate multiplayer experience’, featuring a dynamic 3-day experience that can change depending on the successes or failures of your team. The fact that each stage will actually be played is a significant change from Operations, no more getting stonewalled on the first set of objectives and never seeing the rest of the map. I’d love to find out more about how this will work. Final Stand - This new game mode will act as an intense tiebreaker for Grand Operations. There will be no respawning and limited ammo depending on the results of previous days. Airborne - Brand new game mode featuring, you guessed it, jumping out of airplanes while flak explodes all around you. This mode is a part of Grand Operations that centers around attacking or defending a group of artillery guns. Attackers will land on the ground and search for explosives in order to destroy the artillery guns. Defenders will utilize towable weapons, fortifications, and anti-air guns in order to build a formidable defense against the attacking team. Release Information Enter mankind’s greatest conflict on Xbox One, PlayStation®4, and PC. On October 11, play the full game with Origin Access Premier or try it as part of the EA Access and Origin Access Play First Trials*. Or, join the fight on October 16 with Battlefield™ V Deluxe Edition early enlister access, or October 19 with the Battlefield™ V Standard Edition. That was all sales pitch--but, trust us, we will be heavily involved in this game. Expect a few more developments in terms of gameplay as well as which direction our community is going to take this game. Contact @BirdDog2043 for more information. The monthly Newsletter serves you curated content from around the community. We hope you enjoy this month's issue! August 2018 Member of the Month Member of the Month Award - @Raven Raven has continuously proven himself to the community by being involved in just about every game we play. Raven is not only involved, but he is actively managing events for our Star Citizen group, and he is managing the spin-up of our new Insurgency: Sandstorm team. Raven is an extremely motivated member always wanting to accomplish more. Congratulations! Service Ribbon Awards Over the last few weeks, we implemented Service Ribbons as part of the awards system. Service Ribbons are awarded for playing games the community plays with the community. These types of awards will be akin to "campaign" ribbons in militaries around the world where each game would be similar to an "Area of Operations (AO)." These awards are meant to incentivize playing games other than one's primary game within the community. Examples of criteria for these service ribbons range from having to "attend five events with the Deathdealers" for ARMA to having to "earn 2500 oil for the in-game clan(s)" in World of Warships. As of writing this, we have created service ribbons for the five current games the community officially plays now with plans in place to create new ribbons for upcoming games like Battlefield V and Insurgency: Sandstorm. We have no plans at the moment to retroactively create and subsequently award service ribbons for past games the community has played. Calendar/Events Function August brought about a significant increase in activity here in the Fighting 13th. 16 official events hosted throughout the month kept community members and their hardware busy. The calendar function is one of our most popular applications on the website, and it's a great tool to track what's being played and talked about within the community, as well as participation levels for such events. If you know you are going to attend an event on the calendar, please hit the "RSVP" button next to it to let leaders and other participants that you will be there. Tabletop Simulator Nights Join us for the Table Top Simulator Revamp. It's been a while since we have hosted one, but we are bringing it back. The only thing you need to play is the Tabletop Simulator game on Steam, which costs $19.99 currently. If you can't buy it for this TTS event, you are more than welcome to still hang out in Discord with us. The games being considered at the moment are Secret Hitler, Trogdor, Cards against humanity, scrabble, and any other games in the steam workshop. We have a poll posted on the forum where we are trying to figure out what day and time to host this event. Please vote so we have an idea of how many people to expect. Booze are encouraged required. Contact @Lennoxx for more information. ARMA III/ Deathdealers Company News With summer nearing its end, Deathdealers Company has come back strong and continued to gain more members and push harder during Tactical Tuesdays. This month we have made the official change over to RHS mod set, and the new mod list is pinned in the #arma_deathdealers Discord channel. Last week, the opening shots were fired in our newest campaign, Operation Hell’s Gate as US Forces attempt to retake an African nation from the hands of the Russians. This campaign will continue for some weeks with regular installments every Tuesday (See the Calendar for event details). This week, we will be reopening the Alpha server with Chenarus Liberation to the public to try and garner new recruits from the Arma community. As always, we would love to have new people (or old ones) join us for our Tuesday missions! If you have any questions, feel free to post them in the Deathdealers Discord channel or speak with @cJack directly. Also, we would like to give a shout-out to @Locutus for doing most of the legwork helping the team set up the Alpha server. Escape from Tarkov / Vikings Company News Patch 0.9 released in July, which brought with it a plethora of new gear, but also new issues. Fortunately, hotfix 0.9.2 released in early August helping fix more noticeable in-game problems: hit registration and other new glitches. New barter items were also added which were very much appreciated by the community for bringing new ways to obtain good gear and quest items. Technical patch 0.10 will be dropped any day now which will bring with it many welcome fixes and optimizations, new weapon modifications for the SA-58, and the addition of the heavily requested Mosin-Nagant to the field. Our EFT Squad Up events have been hugely successful incorporating our new members from across multiple countries and time zones to work together as teams to get quests done and to fill our stashes with loot. A shout-out is in order for all the new members who have joined, @Daytex for stepping up to the plate to become the officer in charge of the NA side of the house, and the Vikings Company as a whole in the huge recruiting and activity effort over the last several weeks. Bravo! Contact @[13th] Exiduslol, @Scags, or @Daytex for more information. Sea of Thieves / Buccaneers Company News ATTENTION: The Buccaneers are declaring war against all foes; pirate, landlubber, and skeleton alike! The "Sea of Friends" treaty period which we so graciously laid upon the Sea of Thieves community is ending (we will be focusing on PvP in the coming weeks)! Other than that, the number one item on our plunderin' list are cursed cannonballs, and we are actively looking for someone to use them on. Bronx was welcomed to the game with the explosion of a few gunpowder barrels. And we have three pirates who reached Legendary status in Sea of Thieves: @Slabstone, @Benny_07, and @Elephantagon . Congratulations! Lastly, the weekly events are back on, until 19th of September when Forsaken Shores releases. Speaking of which...Not all is known to us of what Forsaken Shores will bring, but we do have this statement from the developers: This is subject to change before release as always. Contact @Chris P Bacon for more information. Star Citizen / Advocacy Company News Hello fellow citizens and non-citizens. Please give a warm welcome to @Senipah ,our newest member! Don’t be shy, introduce yourself, and take flight in the expanding PU! @Raven has also posted a couple of events primarily focused on Star Marine. You can see how well we coordinate and work together as a team from the screenshots we post in the #space_shots channel in Discord. Looking forward is an exciting time! We are very much looking forward to CITIZENCON 2948 next month October 10th in Austin, TX, and what news and implications it will bring about for us and the game. The livestream will start with Chris Roberts's much sought-after keynote demo and will be followed by different panels through the week. The event culminates in a final show with Chris Roberts hosting a panel called “Road to Release." I get excited just hearing that. Stay tuned on Discord, check for announcements for any upcoming events leading to Citizencon, and be on the lookout for a big group-up on Discord to watch the livestream and revel in all its glory. Lastly, we are anxiously awaiting the release of 3.3. It offers an explorable (first-ever) planet called Hurston, complete with its own city and four moons to explore that orbit it. Also coming are new weapons, gear, and ships, including the supremely impressive Aegis Hammerhead! Stop being a civilian and become a citizen today!! Contact @TheReal Kyle for more information. World of Warships / Hydras Company / Stingrays Company News What a busy month! Season 3 of Clan Battles just finished. Stingrays (NA) company ended the season placing in the Gale League, Group I. Hydras Company ended the season placing in Storm League, Group III. Hydras also participated in the Poseidon Cup and placed 5th of 16 teams! Job well done, everybody! And please thank @Yasvar for his efforts in managing and setting up our team to participate in the Poseidon Cup! With the excitement of August behind us, the Stingrays and Hydras are entering "off-season" mode. However, we are still looking forward to update 0.7.9, which will bring about with it changes to the clan base system and various map changes. Lastly, please congratulate @Predacon on his promotion as Commander of 1st Division (the WOWS Companies) and @Shodprism on his promotion as Commanding Officer of Stingrays Company! Please contact them or @Coldfreeze for more information. Upcoming Games This section will highlight games that are on our "watchlist" of potential games we want to get into. In this issue, we will highlight three games: Insurgency: Sandstorm Since last month's newsletter arcticle on Insurgency: Sandstorm (INS), it has joined the 13th as an X-Ray Company team and had it's first official event this past weekend. Raven would like to thank @Baboking, @WeabusUltimas, @PhaseVortX, @Dutch, and @copat149 for joining in on the action! It was an armful of fun (a reference to the gory, but oddly satisfying dismemberment system INS employs)! Be on the lookout for more events! With a brand new build being released on August 30th for the start of Beta 2, INS was buggy and in need of optimization. The developers listened to feedback from Beta 2 testers like us and released two hotfixes. These hotfixes enabled the game to run smoother on higher settings and squashed many of the reported bugs. The Beta 2 will run right up to the official launch on September 18th. INS is definitely an INSanely fun game that is even more fun when a group of the 13th are playing together. Contact @Raven or come join us in the Discord INS chat if you are interested or looking for more information. Battlefield V The Battlefield V Open Beta is starting! If you’re having doubts about the game, looking to try it out, or if you’re just excited to play it, now is the chance. Pre-load has already begun and you can start playing on Thursday, September 6th. We already have two organized events taking place during the beta weekend, one on Saturday, September 8th at 8 PM EDT and the other on Sunday, September 9th at 8 PM CEDT. Hope to see you there if you’re looking to play some Battlefield with the clan! Also, BFV has been delayed, unfortunately. The release date has been pushed back a month from October 19th to November 20th. But worry not! We will still be ready to jump into the game as a community on release date with fun events in store and good times to be had. Contact @BirdDog2043 for more information. World War 3 (By @BillyBantam) Many people were disappointed with the annoucment of Battlefield V. After heading to World War I in Battlefield 1 (seriously what is going on with this naming!) many people were hoping to return to the Battlefields of the near future. Looking to fill that gap are The Farm 51, a Polish development team of around 90 employees working on World War 3-A multiplayer military FPS set in a modern, global conflict. Strong teamplay, national armed forces, real locations, full body awareness, and a versatile customization system all contribute to the authenticity of the modern combat experience enhanced by other essential elements such as a robust ballistic system, advanced armors and life-like weapons. Ballistic System and Weapon Customization. The development team engaged with Military Professionals and experts early on in the project to try to craft the most realistic ballistics and armor system in an FPS to date. Every shot counts, and every bullet behaves as you would expect when hitting armor and body parts! On top of this there will be a full weapon customization system, similar to that seen in Escape From Tarkov, with customization options having a noticeable effect on weapon performance. First Impressions I was lucky enough to get my hands on the game at Gamescom in Cologne. It honestly felt great, reminded me a lot of Battlefield 3 crossed with ARMA. The gunplay felt very good, with each shot feeling like it had weight behind it. The map I played seem really well designed and had a grey, gritty realism to it. Overall I was very impressed with what I saw, there is certainly lots of promise and it will be interesting to see if the developer can match their ambition. World War 3 goes into Early Access sometime in the fall. A technical test is being run before EA starts, you can sign up here. Hi all, apologies it's a bit late but here is the Member Spotlight for Augusts member of the month @Raven Q1. Can you share a real life picture? A. Of course, here is one from a trip to Lake Tahoe. Q2. Where are you from? A. I was born in California and raised in Massachusetts. Past 13 years have been spent in Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Florida, and now Vermont. Q3. Tell us a little about yourself. A. I am 34 years old, married, and I have a 6 year old daughter. After going to college at UMass Dartmouth for a couple of years I enlisted in the US Coast Guard, hence the moving around the past 13 years and my odd work schedule. Once I have done my 20 years it's off to start my second career. Q4. What's the first video game that made an impression on you? A. Toss up between Duck Hunter and Super Mario Bros, NES. Q5. Why/When did you join the Fighting 13th? A. I joined the 13th in January 2017. After playing on PlayStation for 5 or so years with CJack he told me about an Alpha game on PC called Star Citizen and the Fighting 13th. I had been wanting to build a PC for years and decided to finally do it, and built a second PC a month later for another 13th member ? Q6. Any notable memories from your time with the community? (Funny, sad, memorable, whatever) A. Plenty of fun gaming nights since joining, that's for sure. One thing that made me laugh pretty hard was when I team killed Danius in a Tactical Tuesday event. I didn't decide to shoot a guy wearing the same camo as me....the problem was Danius's character decided to strip down to nothing but his white boxer briefs running around shooting a big gun. I thought Copat as Zues was screwing with me so I dropped Danius ? Q7. Have you met anyone from the community IRL? A. I have, I recruited a fellow Coast Guard member for the 13th. Definitely would like to meet more if any of you are in Vermont in the next year before I get transferred to a new Unit. Q8. What types of games do you usually play? A. First and third person shooters and RPGs. Right now most of my gaming time is in (shameless plug ?) Insurgency: Sandstorm, Arma3, Star Citizen, and Warframe (PS4). Q9. What's your guilty pleasure game? A. ? I guess in the context of speaking to the PC clan that I am part of, I would have to say Warframe on PS4. I really tried to start over with a PC Warframe account and play with the 13th, but 5 years of Warframe progression and it just felt wrong starting over. Q10. What is one game you feel every person should play at least once? A. The Last of Us.....no hesitation answering that question. TLOU is the best story of any game I have played. I felt truly invested in the characters and couldn't put it down, always needed to know what was going to happen next. Q11. What would you like to see from the Fighting 13th in the next 6 - 12 months? A. I'm definitely excited to see what we do with Insurgency: Sandstorm. We already have a good base of 13th members playing Sandstorm and I am actively recruiting outside of the 13th for new members to join in on the Sandstorm awesomeness. I think it offers addictive gameplay and a change of pace for the 13th FPS wise. I'm especially looking forward to running the Competition mode with you all. Q12. Would you rather fight a horse sized duck, or 100 duck sized horses? Explain. A. A horse sized duck. Too many reasons to list come to mind?, but a few are: 1.I really want to see a duck the size of a horse. 2.Tiny little horses would be too damn cute to hurt. 3.If I won and the duck survived, I would be able to ride it and fly around. 4.If I won and the duck died, I would eat like a king for months!

Tomorrow, September 11th, will mark the 17th Anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks in New York City and Virginia. The morning of September 11th, 2001, American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North tower at 8:46AM. 17 minutes later United Airlines Flight 175 struck the South Tower. American Airlines Flight 77 would strike the Pentagon at 9:37AM. United Airlines Flight 93 passengers bravely fought the hijackers, bringing the plane down in a field in Pennsylvania at 10:03AM, with no survivors. The South Tower would collapse first at 9:59AM. The North followed at 10:28AM. WTC 7 would collapse later at 5:21PM. Search and Rescue efforts at the collapsed World Trade Center would continue until it would be declared clear in May of 2002. Many of the men and women trapped in the debris were FDNY firefighters. The final survivor would be rescued 27 hours after the collapse. The recovery efforts would be performed by first responders, iron workers, plumbers, pipe fitters, men and women from all walks of life, creeds and ethnicities. In the years following, over 250 + organizations would be founded to support the victims, survivors, and rescue workers. By 2012, many of these organizations have been disbanded. The attacks claimed the lives of 2,996 people, and injured 6,000 more. 343 firefighters, 72 law enforcement officers, 55 military personnel were among the dead, and more then 90 countries lost citizens in the attack. The terrible tragedy that day will forever hold a place in our hearts and minds, for those that experienced it, those that were old enough to remember where they were that day. Many Americans can tell you where they were when the towers fell, and have pledged themselves to never forget the attacks and the terrible toll it took on innocent lives. Today, 17 years later, the world we live in has been and still is being shaped by 9/11. The story of 9/11 is both one of terrible sadness, and one of great hope. The world came together to mourn the loss of life, people from around the country and indeed from around the world gave everything they could to help those affected by the attacks. Men and women of all walks of life, colors and creeds were no longer different. They were American. While many of the after affects of the attacks have faded, for many the pain and suffering continues, for those that lost loved ones, and for the survivors. If you want to help, or want to donate to a charity, here are just a few: https://www.firehero.org/ The National Fallen Fire Fighters fund honors and remembers Americas fallen fire heroes, and assists families while attempting to reduce fire fighters deaths. https://searchdogfoundation.org/ The National Disaster Search Dog Foundation's mission is to strengthen Americas Disaster response by rescuing and recruiting dogs to be trained as search dogs for recovery operations. http://voicesofseptember11.org/ This link is one of the few remaining 9/11 charities. It bring you to the Voices of September 11th website, whose efforts to assist families of the 9/11 victims and survivors has been commendable. They are also the people behind the 9/11 Living Memorial, where you can listen to the stories of both victims and survivors online here http://livingmemorial.voicesofseptember11.org/

Hello! I just recently applied so here's a little bit about me. I'm 22 years old. I like beer and any hard liquor. When I go to the bar, I tend to try whatever IPA they have on tap or order a nice gin and tonic. I have a lot of interests and games I play. I wear lolita fashion which is very frilly and girly. This is just one of my outfits laid out on my bed. I often go drinking dressed like this. It's very amusing to drunk people and I've been invited on random bar crawls. I am also am trying to get back into drawing. It's been a long time since I've actively done that. Quick doodle from a couple weeks ago. I'm also experimenting with pixel art. I also knit, sew, trying to get into making music, and bake. I'm looking into getting into fishing so if anyone here fishes please reach out to me. I'm very curious about that hobby. As far as games go, I play FFXIV, World of Warcraft, PUBG, and other various indie games. I'm always up for trying new things. I used to play LoL religiously, but I got to Plat II and quit out of boredom a few years ago. Oh! I also play Shadowverse which is a really fun TCG that's similar to hearthstone, but they're very generous about giving away free packs. (You get 40 from completing the tutorial.) If anyone wants to rope me into trying a new game, it's not that hard! Other random things I can think of is I have five cats, plus one foster kitty. I'm a crazy cat lady. I volunteer multiple times a week either helping build a house, IT work for a non-profit, and at a women's shelter. Oh, and I speak Japanese as a second language. I'm still learning, but I can hold conversations with native speakers! (My writing skills is where I struggle. Kanji is difficult.) If you need help translating or navigating something in Japanese, I don't mind helping. Anyways, nice to meet you all!

And events are being created as we speak. It's great to see war thunder back in the community again and with recent reinforcements in the form of our amazing new members, we are confident it will continue to grow! We are also hoping to do clan squadron battles in the near future well as custom battles. Land, sea or air we are standing by and ready! Contact @Wulfie for more information. Social Media Manager Opportunity The Fighting 13th is looking for someone to manage our social media. We have had social media accounts for some time, but right now they are really no doing any work for us. As our social media manager, you will update social networks and curate content to gain new followers. You will also create new social marketing campaigns, build community recognition, and manage all published community content. If you have experience, or think this is something you could do please contact @BillyBantam. Tactical Combat Division "Spartans" News It has been a slow few months for the games Tactical Combat Division plays. Our biggest update is the new game mode and Omaha Beach map Hell Let Loose is getting. This is sure to get us fairly active into the game. From the developers: More on the update here: https://steamcommunity.com/games/686810/announcements/detail/1595888090488515470 Also, if you are interested, please signup for the King Two Lima event happening on October 26th. Please contact @copat149 or @Raven for more information on Tactical Combat Division news. First Person Shooter Division "Red Devils" News Battlefield 5 It is still a bit quiet around Battlefield, some games here and there. New content is coming soon though! The Metro remake should be live in October, which will bring some great and awful memories back for most players. The Pacific theater is going live this fall, but that will probably happen towards the latter end of the season, historically speaking. Halo Not much news surrounding this game. We started to gather some players that are interest in playing it. We expect it to be big! Call of Duty: Modern Warfare It is to be expected that not everyone is going to like this game (in a community more aligned with Battlefield). A handful of us played the Beta--the game seems well designed so far, and it gives many of us that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare nostalgia! There sure are a lot of bugs, but we are expecting to see a well rounded game coming out on October 25th. It is going to be lots of fun, especially with a number of Red Devils anticipated to pick it up. If you have any questions, please contact @Stixx or @ThunderPhat or @tindahbox. World of Warships Division "Hydras" News These past three months have been a great time for the World of Warships Division. We have broken records and gained a decent number of players. We made new friends and enemies--that is the Hydra way. To forever sail the salty sea.⛴️ Clan battles -- Season 6 "Neighbors": EU Squad: What a strange but fruitful season this has been. Wargaming in all their wisdom decided to change our beloved tier 10 clan battles to tier 8 which changed the entire dynamic of the competitive battles. The start of the season was great fun, but then this turned to salt. We struggled to push through the gold ranks and keep it fun. Then a plan was devised, and we sailed through the ranks to the golden gate of Typhoon League, struggled to fight for what was rightfully ours. We lost...we cried, we shouted at the enemies for cheating the system in their stupid little Destroyers. Salt there was. We tried again, and then... We pulled through! We broke our clan record by getting in the typhoon league. A job well done, gents! Sir Admiral Captain Commodore Lord Commander Lieutenant @Capt_Teek is very proud of you! NA Squad: We tried playing in a more structured format this season by having a set parameter for Alpha and Bravo teams. But, due to the constraints of life, this got cast aside halfway through the season and we went back to our old ways. We managed to get both squads into Storm 3 which is about our average. All in all, a fairly successful season where we learned a few things. A big thanks to our EU counterparts for helping us along. Well done to: @Gunfios with 184 battles played @L.A.M.Gunner with 167 battles played @Stracht with 166 battles played and with a lucky win and earning the Valor Citation, and @wr0s with an amazing play winning a match against the odds and earning the Valor Citation And a big welcome to our new friends: Leopardgecko19 Wonkothesane1 Welshdave Giles Blackprince 5wi55_Ch3353 (He has re-joined us. Welcome back, sir!) s03g Dlloyd117 Wedge Also, kudos to @Yasvar for becoming the Events Coordinator Also congratulations to @wr0s and @KingRichard201 for achieving rank 1. Take a rest, bois! And last but not least, @Gunfios is a great chap... Please contact @Capt_Teek or @Dirty Andy if you are interested in getting together with the fine sailors of the World of Warships Division. Escape from Tarkov Division "Vikings" News No new updates. We still play the game. @Jfranklin94 has been a very welcome guest of ours. Come loot the streets of Tarkov with us! Contact @[13th] Exiduslol or @Daytex for more information. Looter Shooters Division "Pathfinders" News Pathfinders has been going strong in recent months, mainly thanks to Division 2. We have a core group of regular players and a raid group that gets together every weekend. Since launch, we have welcomed many new recruits, most notably @vault1965 and @Facco95Pc, who have been a massive help in helping Division players with builds, advice, and teaching how to complete the raid. Also big thanks to @Draw for supporting on the NA side. Going forward Division 2 players are looking forward to Title Update 6 and Episode 2. Title Update 6 brings massive changes to the game from targeted lootdrops, weapon and gear balancing and a huge UI overhaul. Episode 2 brings new story content to the game based around The Pentagon, and a rumored new raid against True Sons in "The Foundry." Looking into 2020, the thing we are all excited for is to head back to New York! Do we finally get to take down Aaron Keener? What else for Pathfinders? We are looking to rekindle the Destiny 2 flame. With the launch of New Light (the Free to Play Destiny 2) and Shadowkeep on Steam, many players new and old are excited to jump into Destiny 2 again. There have been a lot of changes in the last year, and with Armor 2.0 going live with the launch of New Light it's going to feel like a familiar "brand new" game. Please contact @BillyBantam for more information! Sea of Thieves Division "Buccaneers" News The Buccaneers are still at it, killing strangers all over the deep blue sea. News: The one year anniversary update hit us back around April/May. It brings a long quest line with more lore, riddles, explosions, traps and other goodies. The Arena: New in Sea of Thieves is The Arena--a pure PvP experience. It puts you with other four-people crews for points. Points are earned by handing in chests, shooting/sinking other boats and killing players. Pets! Pets have finally arrived! You can now fire your monkey out of a cannon and watch it soar through the sky! New types of coins were introduced for this--you can buy them with real money or you can try to hunt down a special skeleton that will run if you see it (so be on the lookout!). Some of us already have a pet and this has caused a lot of damage to boats as the crew was busy playing with the little ones. The developers have also added fishing to the game, so do not expect @Benny_07 to help around on the boat as he will be busy catching the trophy fish. We would like to give a warm welcome to new members: Jazzy- he sailed with us in Atlas, but has finally started playing Sea of Thieves 🙂 Psyko-- Jazzy's brother, he only has a few hours in the game - but he hungers for more! For anyone interested in the game, you can try it for a month for £1/$1 using Xbox Game Pass for PC (beta). It includes Sea of Thieves and bunch of other games. Feel free to stop by #pirate-chat or ask @Forked if you have any questions about the game Other Tidbits Members As of posting this, the community is: 250 Members | 15 Officers | 8 Divisions | 10 Years Going Please welcome the following members to the community: @DenBenny @FaultyLogic @MaxWaldorf @Gregor-Jeff @_EnsignParker_ @HMCS_Devilfish @Toxicado @Ross @Mikazza @Katalyst @jbailey130 @Crazymoose @joejacksmith @Tiamatt1014 @goldtrain @Reven @AtmosChem @Ivar_The_Strong @Crus4der2011 @Jazzy @StibniteSmurf @Kinesio7710 @M.Sullivan @BeautifulMassacre @BlackPrince42 @CorgiTheDOG @Akuma121 @Paisaman

Today, Nov 11th, the countries of Denmark, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, and a slew of other countries will celebrate Veterans Day/Armistice Day etc. Today we honor and remember Veterans of all services for their sacrifices to their respective nations, both past, and present. These men and women have faithfully served their nation, willingly offering up their lives in the defense of everything they hold dear. While I do not speak for other countries, Veterans Day in the US is a day of brotherhood for those that have served. It is a day that we remember what our sacrifices mean, what we have fought and bled for in the defense of our great Nation. Many of my fellow brothers and sisters in-arms will gather today, and tell stories of their time in service, whether at peace or at war. Many of our fellow clan members have, or still do, faithfully serve their nation; today we honor your sacrifices: the time you spent far from home, away from your loved ones. The time you spent training to fight, and if necessary, lay down your life in defense of your nation, and more importantly, your comrades. The bond we have formed in our service is not a one that is easily broken, or forgotten. Regardless of branch, or nation, we share a kinship unlike any other. We have fought alongside each other, sharing in the blood, sweat, and toil that is the military. Some of us have served our time in war, in places far away and strange to our own home. In combat we have taken this bond, and forged it in steel stronger than any armor we possess. This bond is our strength, the very bedrock our courage and tenacity in combat is founded on. It is this bond of brotherhood that would bring us home together, with our shields, or on them. Men and women from all over the world have given their body and soul in service to their nation. Some would return home, missing a part of themselves, leaning more than ever on their brothers and sisters. Today, more than ever, we must take the time to remember their sacrifice. “All gave some, but some gave all.” This year, Nov 11th holds an even greater significance. 100 years ago, on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, the First World War would come to an end. After 4 years, 3 months, and 2 weeks of intense fighting, often hand to hand, the guns would fall silent, and church bells not heard since the beginning of the war would ring once more. 38,830,500 soldiers and civilians on all sides would be wounded or killed in the fighting, and even those unscathed would bear the mental scars of warfare for the rest of their lives. To this day, the scars left upon the Earth from the shelling and fighting can still be seen. Soldiers fought valiantly, on all sides, in conditions and against odds that are unimaginable today, in places like Verdun, Belleau Wood, Ypres, Tannenberg, and the Marne. Stories and legend live on from the 4 years of combat, such as the Attack of the Dead Men in 1915, or the Lost Battalion of 1918, as soldiers from many nations faced the horrors of war with steadfast courage and an iron will. The Great War would be marked by the use of tactics and weapons the world had never seen, with devastating effect as the old war collided head on with modern warfare. The war would inspire many authors, artists, and musicians to create compelling works of art and literature from their experiences, such as “All Quiet on the Western Front,” and its heavy influence on J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings.” Today, 100 years later, we remember this war with the Red Poppy as the symbol of death, renewal, and life, with the poem “In Flanders Fields” by Lt. Col.. John McCrae. In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row by row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard among the guns below. We are the dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved, and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe; To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If yea break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. While the last Veteran of WWI has passed, we must make the effort to remember their sacrifices and hardships in this terrible conflict; lest we forget the mistakes of the past. To All service members, regardless of branch or nation: Thank You.

The Newsletter serves you curated content from around the community. We hope you enjoy this issue! Member of the Month Awards Member of the Month Award - Gunfios (April) While still being a relatively new member, gunfios has shown great commitment to both sides of the pond within the World of Warships Division. For six weeks straight, gunfios played day and night in world of warships clan battles, helping the team to victory. The insomniac old git was never swayed by the petty squabbles of his peers (and piers) or the dismay of commanders. He has shown to be a reliable member to world of warships group....and mostly a lovable guy... Everyone is always happy to hear that dusty windpipe bringing smiles to those who are blessed to be in his presence. Well done, ye old git ;) Member of the Month Award - RJBViking (May) RJBViking has been with the Fighting 13th community awhile, several years in fact. He was always a fairly quiet individual. Nevertheless always online when you need him and always cheerful, despite the harsh living conditions he fights living all the way up north (he is our most northern member in the community). Recently, he has stepped up to helm the Rocket League squad within X-Ray Division, overseeing close to a dozen new recruits and weekly events. For his efforts during the month of May, we gladly present him the Member of the Month award. Well done! Member of the Month Award - Jfranklin (June) Jfranklin is one of our most well known Senior Members within the community and within Tactical Combat Division. He is a regular member of our ARMA group, our Insurgency group, and now our Mordhau group. He regularly corrals the troops for game night sessions. Alongside his Tactical Combat Division duties, he has also stepped up to lead the Senior Council. He made the successful turnover from Weabusultimas and he is already proving himself a worthy leader. For his efforts during the month of June, we dutifully present to him the esteemed Member of the Month award. Job well done! 10 Years of Gaming! The Fighting 13th turns 10 years old this month! We could not have done this without your many hours and all the effort you all put into this community day in and day out. Give yourselves a pat on the back! Who would have known July 20th, 2009 would become the day that this great community would be established. Stay tuned for some 10-year anniversary events in celebration of this awesome feat we have accomplished. Discord Role Game "Subscriptions" You may freely add and remove games from your profile by using the -role command in Discord, followed by one of the following games (Please note, you do have to spell it correctly but capitalization does not matter. Also, these are separate from Division roles). The list of games: Arma 3 Battlefield V Division 2 Escape from Tarkov Insurgency Mordhau Rocket League Sea of Thieves Squad Strategy World of Warships For example, if you are not part of the @Spartans Tactical Combat Games Division, but would like to be kept up to date with announcements regarding Insurgency, you can type into any channel: -role Insurgency and you will be pinged whenever we are LFG or have an upcoming event. To unsubscribe simply type the same command again into any channel. Tactical Combat Division "Spartans" News Over the past few months we have seen some changes to the Spartans and what we play. Several games have been added including things like Hell Let Lose, and Post Scriptum, but the biggest addition that brought the most change was Mordhau. Mordhau did not exactly for in to the Spartans as the Tactical Shooter Division, but the more we played the more we realized there was real strategy to how we play and we were having real fun with it. This prompted the change from Tactical Shooters to Tactical Combat games. With that being said our focus still remains strongly with tactical shooter games. We have seen a lot of promise with Hell Let Loose. Post Scriptum has given us some pretty intense play sessions. And Insurgency: Sandstorm is dropping content like there is no tomorrow. There are a ton of games to play right now and that has been a great thing for our division. Lastly, and probably the biggest news, Arma missions are coming back! That is right. You all have asked, and we are doing what we can to get some missions rolling again. With Copat's return, he has setup an Alive server for us to utilize while we continue to create more content. You guys will decide how far this goes. The more interest we have and the more people we have show up for missions, the more time we will devote to said missions. So dust off your gear Deathdealers....and Mount up! Contact cjack for more information. First Person Shooter Division "Red Devils" News The Battlefield group's 'Red Devils' (the only game FPS Division plays at the moment) has been pretty quiet lately. Every Battlefield patch/update has come with a lot of bugs and errors and keeps most players from playing the game. There have been some players that booted up the game sporadically but no big groups simultaneously. We are currently waiting for the Pacific & American theatre to be released which would hopefully bring back some soldiers! This might take some months though as the big update is scheduled to release around October. We did get two new maps recently but that did not do much for anyone. We are still grouping up, so if you have an itchin' to play, come join us. Contact Stixx for more information. World of Warships Division "Hydras" News The World of Warships Division have had a busy quarter. We are re currently taking some well-earned R&R during the off-season. We are looking at doing a weekly training/tournament event just to keep the rust off. We had a successful season 5 of clan battles reaching Storm League Group 2 and eventually finishing in Group 3. We continually do better every season. The NA side have also been doing really well in the weekly Naval Battles mode. Many thanks to all of those who participate! We also had pman step down from his role as the man in charge of the NA side. TheDirtyAndy stepped up to become the new XO of World of Warships (and NA side leader). We of course thank pman for his diligent service and he continues to sail with us and we congratulate TheDirtyAndy on his promotion. Many thanks go out to AquaWhale, MudFrogS1C, Sir_Capt_Teek_V and Yasvar for keeping things under control during the interim period of acquiring a new commander. Also along with AquaWhale and MudFrogS1C being in-game Deputy Commanders of the NA side, we would like to give a shout out to ShodPrism for his in-game promotion of becoming Deputy Commander. Contact Capt Teek or TheDirtyAndy if you are interested in getting together with the fine sailors of the World of Warships Division. Escape from Tarkov Division "Vikings" News Escape From Tarkov has had a few quiet patch cycles recently. The previous patch, 0.11.7, was both a optimization update as well as a new-content update. As many Tarkov players know, the A.I behavior can range from being John Wick hunting you down with no remorse to simply ol' Jack with a gun. 0.11.7 aimed to fix that by making scav behavior more in-line to how a player would move through out a firefight. New adittions to the game include a few new rifles such as the SVDS marksmen rifle, the Desert Tech MDR rifle and the NATO 7.62mm-firing VPO-101 Vepr hunter carbine. A third USEC voice was added due to the popular EFT sub reddit post made by Twitch streamer FortyOne here: https://old.reddit.com/r/EscapefromTarkov/comments/ajex1l/special_request_for_battlestate_games_nikita/. An unwelcome change that occurred was the required additional "find in raid" step in which some quest items were now required to be found in game. Now this usually would not be an issue expect for the fact that some of these quest items are incredibly difficult to find to the point where the quest is not fun to finish and is not worth the reward for the task. players swiftly took to the Tarkov sub reddit to voice their concerns to Nikita, who then promised to come up with better quest changes in the upcoming 0.12 patch. While there has not been much news on 0.12 we were given a 2019 road map at the beginning of the year (it is more of a to-do list than a road map) in which they mention 0.12 including the long-awaited hideout system. I will not go too much into the hideout as there has recently been a well-summarized description of the hide out released by Battle State: https://forum.escapefromtarkov.com/topic/100532-hideout/ . Other things that have been mentioned/confirmed for 0.12 are a new map, new weapons, a scav boss for woods and a new trader. We still have a core group of a people who slug it out on Tarkov almost daily while others have decided that it would be better to sit it out until the next wipe to keep from burning out, a smart move if you ask me. Also Battle State released a pretty cool IRL mini-series thing about Tarkov: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPnrY5BxddI Contact Exidus or Daytex for more information. The monthly Newsletter serves you curated content from around the community. We hope you enjoy this month's issue! Member of the Month Awards Member of the Month Award - @WeabusUltimas (January) Weabus wins the MOTM for the month of January for his hard work in putting together the newly re-formed Senior Council. He has been a power player within the Senior Council roster since the council's formation last year. Ever since its re-formation, he has communicated lines of effort to the community. He has put the Senior Council to work, itself producing many different concerns and actionable solutions for the community at large. Outside of the Senior Council, weabus is one of the more seasoned ARMA mission creators, and he enjoys being a weeb, the ultimate weeb. Member of the Month Award - @Wulfie (February) Wulfie is one of those members you cannot imagine the Fighting 13th without. He has been with us over seven years now and is one part of the chemical composition of the glue that holds us together. February was a particularly quiet month within the Fighting 13th--Wulfie made it still enjoyable to all members alike, by welcoming new recruits, hosting drunken parties in the public lobbies, and just generally being everywhere sort of. Member of the Month Award - @MudFrogS1C (March) "Flaps," as he is known, had what could be considered a fairly unforgettable month which damn near culminated in his permanent removal from the ranks of the 13th. Mud had the unfortunate circumstance of testing the structural strength of his recently acquired Corvette. In a rather misguided attempt to test the structural integrity of said fiberglass corvette, Mud found out the HARD way that in fact trees are tougher than fiberglass. Fortunately through either divine intervention, fate, luck, or perhaps the outstanding skills of the staff at Duke University Hospital Flaps and Aqua continue to fight along side us. If you don't know Mud get to know him. He is a kind , caring young man who loves his family. As Clan mates sometimes we don't really get to know the human side of our fellow members but this month has brought us all closer together in my opinion. We are so happy that Mud and WIlliam are doing well after an unforgettable month of calamity. Special shout out to Aqua who kept us all informed of the situation, which must have been very difficult to do. In reality this MOTM acknowledgement goes out to the entire Flaps family. Best wishes to all for a speedy recovery. Senior Council The Senior Council has been reorganized into a 10--person group. The Senior Council of before was too large (pushing 30 members--included all Senior Members) for its sort of ad hoc structure. Its membership was not made up of members who necessarily wanted a role in policy, strategy, and planning for the community. Now, Senior Council membership is on a volunteer-basis, still comprising of Senior Members, however. Senior Council meetings take place regularly, about once a month. Its leader, currently Chairman weabusultimas, provides leadership with a trench-level view of the state of the community: what games people are playing, what people are saying, what people like, what people do not like, and ways to fix what's wrong with us. If you have something you would like discussed with the Senior Council, please send a DM to @WeabusUltimas. Discord Role Changes Discord Role changes are coming. The current role makeup has members receiving a different 'company' role to opt-in to any mentions and news that company might have. This has become confusing to roster managers and members alike. A simple fix is coming--'Company/Unit' Roles are staying; members will only be allowed one role (the role of the unit to which they are actually assigned). We will be creating different game roles, one for each game the community actively plays together. Members may be allowed to be assigned as many of these roles as they wish. World of Warships / Hydras Company / Stingrays Company News Most groups saw a decline in activity over the last several weeks. That was not the case for our WOWS group. A recap of what has happened with them: January We saw the end of clan battles in January. We started strong attaining 'Storm League' status within the first week, a clan record. Mid-clan battles we saw a massive increase in our daily player base, and with that we were able to run two teams at times (14 players)! As we pushed for the next rank we found ourselves two wins away from the 'Hurricane League,' but that goal soon fell from our grasp. There is always next time. Honourable mentions: @howells5 for most games played @L.A.M.Gunner for exceptional commander skills. February This was an interesting month for us WOW players. Wargaming introduced a new game design which resulted in much hand-wringing and anger among the community, causing some of our guys to break away from the game. We also lost our beloved leader Swiss turning the hydra division into further despair. Both @Capt_Teek and @Predacon have taken leader duties. This has resulted in some changes within the division. We now have an informal council to help decide our actions going forward. Also, we held our annual cup in commemoration for the fallen hero @Stormwolfe for the second year running hosted and arranged by @Yasvar. Three teams battled it out to see who was the best in the WOWS division. The winners of this cup was Team @Stracht, @warrior11, and @Konarider443. Congratulations! Also: A special thanks to @Yasvar and @L.A.M.Gunner for the awesome commentary. Special awards to @howells5 for best kill and torps @Optimus for "Cant touch this" @Shodprism for turbo pleb @Cyclops_123 for big balls A massive Well Done to @Stracht for winning his 3rd tournament in a row. In his words, "Humbleness, thy name is stracht." March This month we entered the King Of The Seas world tournament. It was exciting times for the Hydras as this was the first time we have entered the world championship. In the run up to this event we came across the SO3G clan and trained with them, befriending and making a new ally in the process. Even though we didn't win the qualifying matches, we didn't go down without a fight. The result was a 2:3--even though our team was not optimal manned. Honourable mentions to those involved: @Gaspadien @Yasvar @howells5 @Stracht @warrior11 @L.A.M.Gunner @Arndawg @KingRichard201 @Capt_Teek Going forward we have now set up an 'arena' were we are meeting other with clans for friendly, competitive and dare I say it outrageous game nights. Upcoming Clan battles are around the corner. This next season we will break through into the next league. And, the EU vs NA clash is around the corner! We will see if NA can keep their title or die trying..... See you next month! The Division 2 Many members have taken an uncanny interest in Washington, D.C.--its alphabetic street names, its wide and crisscrossing avenues, and its green spaces at large intersections. Its seeming ode to classical Greek, Roman, Egyptian Revival, and French Second Empire architectural styles. Its unreasonably low building height limit set forth in its zoning code. Its dizzying array of federal and local police jurisdictions, its inept city council, its artificially-created "neighborhoods," its lack of style. Its awful public transportation system and its lack of foresight, its painfully-crowded streets during morning and afternoon rush hours....let me stop. No this isn't because of some bizarre, out-of-nowhere interest in Pierre L'enflant's grande plan for Washington, D.C., nor is it because of the influential @Jason99vmi and him being a tour guide for the city, nor is it because you can view the former abode of @thebronxbomber there (it's true). This is because of The Division 2! A sequel to Tom Clancy's The Division, this game brings the same style of play you loved in New York to Washington, D.C.! We have been regularly playing with a sizable group since release day. Come join in on the action! Chat to us in the #shd_comms_channel or hit us up in voice in either of the 'The Division 2" channels! Contact @BillyBantam for more information. Hi everyone! My name is Clement, I'm 32. I started playing fps with Half Life back in 1998 when some of the members of this community were still wearing diapers 🙂 I've played rpgs (Baldur's Gate 2 is arguably my all-time favorite game along with Fallout 2) and rts a lot. I kind of stopped playing on PC over the past 10 years or so (switched to console out of simplicity) but recently re-discovered that life is too short to be wasting your time playing Xbox one. I unfortunately don't have as much time as some of you guys allocated to gaming, have to find the right balance between work and a (very tolerant 🙂) wife. But I'm definitely willing and able to spend a couple of hours a week on bf5! What else? I love hiking and other outdoor activities. I'm a also decent skier (I wish I could play bf5 as well as I can ski). I'm a history enthusiast, especially military history. Btw I have some nice reading recommendations about WW1 and WW2 if anyone is interested. Ok that's about it!

Hey everyone, LazyBuzzard86 here So I have literally just been accepted into the Community after searching for a group of people to play BFV with. I come from a console background actually, my reasons for building a PC was just for an all round better experience, more realistic games such as Arma etc (although I have mainly been a Battlefield player throughout the years and I’m currently enjoying BFV) I really dont know how i went so long without a Gaming PC, i cant use a controller for anything else other than flying now (And that's only until i get Track IR to use with my H.O.T.A.S I’m a Husband to the most beautiful Woman in existence and Dad to three gorgeous little girls I’m also a musician, being a vocalist, guitarist, and also play the harmonica, I’v had to take time out from performing due to mental health reasons but can’t wait to get back out there when things are better than they are right now, on wards and upwards eh! I love anything military related, my Dad and my Ancestors all served and I’m incredibly proud of that. I’m really looking forward to getting to know you all and becoming an active member of the Fighting 13th! Feel free to add me on Steam and Origin using LazyBuzzard86 (Also feel free to call me Jon) See you on the Battlefield (and in space once I get Star Citizen)

I know this was before my time with the 13th, but I have so many awesome memories of this game! It was in my opinion the last great Battlefield game. Take a minute to enjoy this video, and remember the good old days.

My name is Lennoxx, and Im 30. I have been a part of the f13 for a few years now. I have been in multiple divisions, and I have even ran one at one point in time. I tend to have my hands in most things social (I tend to talk too much). I really enjoy our community we have been building, and they have gotten me through some tough times. I like all things cute….glitter….rainbows…cupcakes…unicorns…fizzy water… I currently do not belong to a division since I have been dealing with real life, buuuut now I’m back. I don’t tend to play single player games too often. I was an Army Medic, but now I am a student finishing up my degree in botany and herbal medicine. I like mmos, rpgs, fps….anything that is not a single player game.....buuuut there are always exceptions. Feel free to hit me up to play a game or chat.

Always very vocal and willing to help Vault, has grown into a valuable member of the group. Whether that was helping people farm to improve their builds, leading people through their first raids or being a reliable team mate in PvP Vault has proven himself. He has put in over 500 hours of Division 2 with the Fighting 13th, and has now also surpassed that with Destiny 2. His great sense of humor and his use of language (picked up from his adopted home) which led to some amusing and colourful outbursts make Vault, well Vault. Without doubt Vault is Rookie of the Year, let alone its Member of the Year and will go on to be a big part of the community for many years (if the old bastard doesn't die first ). Introducing: The Rocket League Division "Air Wolves." Commanding Officer: @Forked Executive Officer: @Elephantagon On the December 18th, 2018, we got our first text channel in Discord dedicated to Rocket League here in F13. Some of us started spending a lot of time in the voice channels of Other Games 1 and 2 until we got our own voice channel at March 25th, 2019. We then started doing tournaments. The first tournament was the Indy gaming league summer circuit. @RJBViking, @Vultur#1460 and @Elephantagonrepresented F13 with @DenBenny and @Benny_07 as substitutes. Halfway through the season, RJBViking left for the Americas to chase his dreams (he was sadly just chased back across the pond by COVID-19) and Denbenny replaced him. They got to the play-offs but got knocked out early. Next up was the fall circuit, with Vultur, Denbenny and Elephantagon playing with @Dutch as a sub. This time around it went a lot better and they got all the way to the finals! We lost the last match, but second place is something we are all happy with. The winter circuit also went well, with the same team (with Bas00 and Wrex as subs) nearly reaching the semi finals. Some statistics from the tournaments: 86 games against 22 opponents - won most of the games. 199 goals with 131 assists, 317 saves and 643 shots on goal. And that is just the competitive side of Rocket League! We often just get together and play private matches against each others just for fun. With everyone on discord and just playing (mostly) random teams we can all have a laugh. A healthy balance of competition and casualness is the key to Rocket League Division's success and growth from a venture to full on division. Well done! Feel free to contact either @Forked or @Elephantagon- or just join one of our sessions on discord. Tactical Combat Division "Spartans" News It has been a slow few months for the games Tactical Combat Division plays. We have a partnership with 79AD and 1-505th clans for Arma events. No currently planned upcoming events, but expect some soon whether for ARMA III, Insurgency: Sandstorm, Hell Let Loose, Post Scriptum, or Mordhau. Please contact @copat149 or @cJack for more information on Tactical Combat Division news. First Person Shooter Division "Vikings" News The FPS Division will be changing its name to the "Vikings" tag. All "Red Devils" will be switched to the new tag. Escape from Tarkov recently got a big content patch bringing along some new features--the biggest one being a weight system, restricting how much your character can effectively carry out from a single game. Along with this, there were some new parts for various weapons of the game and some new armor. And, hopefully, not too far down into the future we will also be getting a new location in the streets of Tarkov, which essentially will be a huge urban combat environment located in the main city of Tarkov. Also, this patch will also include a fresh start for everyone, resetting every single player's account back to level on--a perfect time to jump into the game if you are not already a part of it! Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has added a brand new game mode called Warzone. Members seem to be enjoying Warzone more than the base game. Warzone is the Battle Royale mode in the newest Call of Duty that takes place on the map of Verdansk. Players drop in and fight their way for control over a shrinking circle, much like other Battle Royales. What's different is the Gulag, where players have an extra shot at getting back in the game on their own accord should they die early on...or they can rely on their teammates to buy them back for $4500. The mode is well crafted, original, and tons of fun--you should join us the next time you see us playing! Contact @Stixx or @Daytex for more information. World of Warships Division "Hydras" News Clan Battles happened. On the NA side, this current clan battle season was not our best showing. We made it to Gale league 1. We typically get into Storm league, but we were on the cusp of it. Considering we were down several players this season, I would say we did pretty damn good. We managed a 47% win rate over 99 battles. We did manage to upgrade our Naval Base's Steel Port which allows everyone playing clan battles and ranked battles to earn more steel. On the EU side, we managed a 54% win rate over 69 battles resulting in Gold II. For more information, please contact @Dirty Andy or @Capt_Teek Looter Shooters Division "Pathfinders" News Destiny 2 - Destiny has moved into Season of the Worthy with the return of Trials, the pinnacle PvP mode. If you like PvP and think you are pretty good it's worth jumping in with the guys and trying to go Flawless. The story of Season of the Worthy is based around saving the last city: Don't forget that since September 2019 Destiny 2 went free to play, and there is tons of content for new players. If you are looking for something to do while in isolation, then there will be plenty here to keep you going. If you have any questions ask for help! There's plenty of help to be found from within the LS Division! Division 2 - March saw the launch of the first Division 2 expansion: Warlords of New York. With a complete overhaul of the gear system, a new map adding Lower Manhattan, new difficulty levels and some interesting new Exotic items, there has never been a better time to jump into (back into) The Division 2. With a new raid, The Foundry, due to drop in the coming months there will be more to come in the future. WoNY also saw the addition of Legendary Strongholds, a whole new level of difficulty providing an additional challenge against a new faction...the White Tusk. Pathfinders - Pathfinders is all about looters, whether that's our current focus, Looter Shooters, or more traditional games in the genre. We are always looking at the next big game, if you think that you have found something that will fit in Pathfinders please let Billy know. Additional stuff World War Z - World War Z was recently free on Epic Games, if you picked it up and are looking for someone to play with contact Billy. Hello all, I'm ThunderPhat. Most people call me Thunder or TP. I'm 35 from the UK. Family and work keep me busy all the time but I find time to game a couple of times a week. I mainly play FPS games, current list includes BFV (main game), Insurgency Sandstorm (not played much) and DayZ. I did use to be a big Arma exile player but no one plays it anymore. I've been a BF player for a long time and its always been my main game (apart from BF1). I say your advert on the BF forums and decided to pop on to your discord. I have to say it's a friendly group. I love that you talk about games, cars and loads of other stuff, no to mention banter and have a laugh. Err what else, I co own Insurgency sandstorm servers and a DayZ PvE server with a friend. I have a YouTube, quit streaming and generally enjoy having fun in games but playing objectives.

Deathdealers, This year has been pretty exciting to say the least. We have had some pretty amazing experiences with the return of Tactical Tuesday. From our very first mission with “King Two Lima” to our first 4-part Campaign with “Able Sentry” the action has not stopped. Most of you know, but some of you may not. Every one of our mission are custom made in house for you all to enjoy. This is what makes Tactical Tuesday great, they are never the same, and they are always something new. This all being said we will be making a few changes to Tactical Tuesdays in 2019. First we will be changing them from every week to the last 3 Tuesdays of the month. Not only will this allow the mission makers some more time to put out quality content, it will also give everyone some time off which should help relieve burn out. Second and this is the big one. We will be asking you all to become more involved. We will randomly select one of you per month to help with the mission making process. Don’t worry if mission making is not your thing, your role will be focused on idea generation and the flow of objectives. We feel that by getting everyone involved, everyone will have more vested in the mission’s success. So start thinking about what your perfect mission will be. We look forward to working with all of you on this! cJack out

The fist annual Stormwolfe Cup. (held in honour of our former leader and all around likeable guy Benedict M. "Buddy" Cardillo.) was held the 23 of September. With an amazing tournaround of 11 members (for our standards.) it was an afternoon of fun and competative gameplay. Members where randomly dropped into teams of three members while me and @Yasvar handled the casting/spectator aspect of the tournament. Members included. -Predacon -Cyclops_1234 -I_love_ducks -LAMGunner -Stracht -ViolentElk -howells5 -Yasvar -Arndawg -pman_2015_EU Being that were still in infance when it comes to arranging these tournaments we are extremely satistifed with how it went. I'd like to think that everyone enjoyed the whole shenaningans. The tournament had a twofold objective. Honour the memory of the man with the deepest voice ever heard on Discord and a champion of a human being. And secondly it gave me and yas an insight into how people play and how we can drill things into your already thicker than lead skulls when times arrives for clan battles.

Member Spotlight July '18 - Forked We have decided to tie in member spotlight with member of the month, so for July you get to learn a little more about @Forked . He's been with the community since the beta days of Sea of Thieves, and since then has been become an active member of the community bringing together crews for SoT and supporting @Chris P Bacon on the Buccaneers. Q1. Can you share a real life picture? A. Q2. Where are you from? A. Norway Q3. Tell us a little about yourself. A. I am a 36 year old nerd with a beard. I grew up in Oslo, but moved across the country in 2007 to Ålesund. Living with my girlfriend, two dogs and three cats. I enjoy camping (when the weather is right) in the mountains and at the lakes in the area. I'm also no good at talking about myself. Q4. What's the first video game that made an impression on you? A. I would have to say Super Mario 1 on the NES. I didn't have the console myself, but I borrowed it from a friend and played the shit out of it on a black and white TV. At a later date. Q5. Why/When did you join the Fighting 13th? A. Stumbled over Chris P Bacon somewhere on the internet when talking about Sea of Thieves (pre-release) and he dragged me in. Now I appear to be quite stuck. Q6. Any notable memories from your time with the community? (Funny, sad, memorable, whatever) A. I have only been around sine March, but I have many fun memories in SoT with my fellow pirates. Q7. Have you met anyone from the community IRL? A. Not yet, but I will when I get a chance. Chris owes me a beer ? Q8. What types of games do you usually play? A. I enjoy RTS, strategy and single player games mostly. SoT is the only PvP game I have looked the last 5+ years. Q9. What's your guilty pleasure game? A. Factorio. Ever since I got it I have been coming back to it once or twice every major version, played through it vanilla and then stuffed it with mods and gone through it again. Q10. What is one game you feel every person should play at least once? A. Super Mario 1 or 3. I like how the old games had no forgiveness and no save games. Granted newer games are way too long to do it all in one setting, but I sort of miss that time anyway. Q11. What would you like to see from the Fighting 13th in the next 6 - 12 months? A. I honestly have no clue. When it comes to gaming I live mostly in the moment. I do hope to be able to join gamenight with Tabletop Simulator at some point though. So more of that, please ? Q12. Would you rather fight a horse sized duck, or 100 duck sized horses? Explain. A. Can I get a flamethrower? Then it's 100 duck sized horses. BBQ horse for everybody tonight! (No you can't get a flamethrower - Command?)

Hi. I'm RJBViking (real name Remi), a 20 year old guy from the cozy, frozen winter wonderland of Northern Norway. I joined the Fighting 13th in the end of May 2012, so closing in on 6 years now! I was playing squad mode in Battlefield 3 back in 2012 and fell in love with the team play, so I went on the interwebz looking for clans and I stumbled upon this one. So I started with joining the Falcons for Battlefield 3, and I always get nostalgic about the good old Falcons (squad of the year 2012 <3) I've mostly been playing Battlefield with the clan through the years and had a period with Rainbow Six: Siege, as well. Right now I'm not with any unit and I'm trying to figure out what game to buy (since so few of y'all are as passionate about Rocket League as me ) but I'm poor. I'm a quiet and awkward dude, I actually didn't talk on mic for the first 3 years in my time with the 13th, but now you should be able to squeeze something out of me if you try My hobbies include riding reindeer and hunting polar bears Rocket League, drumming, football, quizzing on sites like Sporcle and stuff like that. From the upcoming autumn I will be studying history at University in the city of Kristiansand in southern Norway.

Week Two The Fighting 13th vs. Goofy Missiles. The Fighting 13th’s team: RJBViking, Elephantagon, Tim (Eltjavo) Week Two of the IGL Summer Circuit was to be played against Goofy Missiles. Match 1 of 5: 0-2 loss. Week Two’s opponents were going to prove to be a lot tougher than that of Week One, and it would turn out to be a defensive series. GM pushed on and made 7 shots, scoring two of these. The Fighting 13th made a good defensive effort, making 5 saves, but was not able to capitalize on their chances. GM won the first match 2-0. Match 2 of 5: 2-3 loss The second match of the series was much closer. In this high-paced match, both teams made 4 saves, but GM had the stronger attacking power and was able to pull off a 3-2 win out of their 9 shots against F13’s 7 shots. Match 3 of 5: 1-3 loss Like in the first week, The Fighting 13th had to win the rest of their matches to stay in the series, only this time having to reverse-sweep GM’s 0-2 lead. GM, however, didn’t seem too interested in the possibility of being turned around, and pushed hard against The 13th’s goal. The Fighting 13th defended well, putting up 8 saves. GM still managed to score 3 goals, and with Elephantagon managing to score the F13’s only goal, GM would win 1-3, and taking the series 0-3. Series result: The Fighting 13th 0-3 Goofy Missiles Stats: Week Two Goals Assists Saves Shots Elephantagon 1 0 7 3 RJBViking 0 2 7 2 Tim 2 0 3 7

Week One The Fighting 13th vs. Young Dirty Mafiosi The Fighting 13th’s team: RJBViking, Elephantagon, Tim (Eltjavo) Our first clash in the IGL Summer Circuit was a Best of 5 series against Young Dirty Mafiosi. Match 1 of 5: 2-3 loss Despite keeping most of the pressure and leading 6-3 in shots, The 13th struggled to find the back of the net, while YDM were far more efficient and scored all their 3 shots, and went on to win the first match 2-3. Match 2 of 5: 2-1 win The Fighting 13th kept the pressure we saw in the first match, but had much more defensive control. The 13th saw 2 of their 6 shots in the goal, strong defending from YDM preventing more goals. YDM would go on to score only one of their 4 shots, therefore losing 2-1 to The 13th. Match 3 of 5: 4-2 loss YDM certainly picked up their game in match 3, counting 11 shots and scoring 4 goals despite The 13th’s heroic defending, making 6 saves. YDM won the third match 4-2. Match 4 of 5: 4-3 win With YDM being only one win away from taking the series, The Fighting 13th had to win two matches in a row. Fortunately, the boys stepped up to the task and pushed hard on the opponent, pounding away 16 shots against YDM’s goal, 4 of these finding the back of the net. With the attacking mindset, it created space for YDM to counter attack. “F13” was able to put up 6 hugely important saves, allowing 3 goals, making the 4-3 win. Match 5 of 5: 3-2 win Match points for both teams as the last match of the series kicked off. This was perhaps the closest match of the evening, counting 5-6 in shots and 5-4 in saves. The Fighting 13th was the most efficient team, however, beating YDM 3-1 and taking home the series with a 3-2 win. For now this only applys to the EU server but if it's an success we will run it on NA aswell. Fighting 13th Slaughter Sunday is a recurring event every sunday when it’s not clan battle season. The point of this is to have fun get some competitive experience in a casual way and getting new/inexperienced members into the competitive thinking. There will be no signups or anything so it's just a show up when it starts and have fun event. Are you interested in being part of this whenever you can? Rules is a work in progress and i just started but should give an idea on how it will work https://docs.google.com/document/d/17L8Rf1vM3lOX-rtx72OQ1jzr_WoEziaczxdUIn5-wI8

Wrapping Up As of posting this, the community is: 173 Members | 13 Officers | 8 Companies | 9 Years Going Member of the Month Award - @Stormwolfe (Posthumous) I'd also like to welcome the following members into the community: @Lauki @GrkNeedles @KosherHam013 @markypanda Well folks, that's all for this issue. Hope you all enjoy this first issue and stay tuned for our next article, which should be even more refined. If you want to contribute to next month's article, please contact @thebronxbomber
